Any ATM with $5000 Limit

Does anybody know if there is an option to withdraw money from ATM up to $5000 using non-Australian travel card.

Want to save $3.00 (or $2.50) charged by banks for each withdrawal.

  • Highly unlikely…could you close the travel card and get it transferred into another account?

    er… go to a branch?

  • There are 2 fees involved.
    1) Charged by your Travel Card provider.
    2) Charged by the ATM.

For (1), check with your card provider if they waive the fee if you use a particular ATM.
For (2), unlikely that you can avoid the charge.

    =================

If your question was: "How much money can I withdraw from an ATM?"
The answer is: $2000 (or $2500) per day. That's the limit.

So, you need to pay a total of $6 (or $5) of fees, and withdraw the money over 2 days.

    • which ATM allows $2500

      • It really depends on the bank and the individual model of the ATM. CBA or ANZ appear to have the most modern ATMs, so perhaps try one attached to a branch or ask the branch first. Most ATMs can only dispense a maximum number of notes just because of the size of the slot.

This sounds criminally.. Why not go to a branch?

reeks of dodgy all over this
I wonder why mods allow posts like this on ozbargain constantly….

Maybe dodgy, but I certainly make the biggest withdrawals I can when abroad for the same reasons.
And I often have $1000+ travel expenses that are most cost effectively settled in cash (w.g ha Long bay cruise, week long cottage rentals etc.)

  • First of all, you will need to see what the maximum per day you can get from your unnamed "non-Australian travel card".

Second, check the fees on the card. It might be cheaper going to a bank branch to get your cash, rather than ATM.

  • This bank doesn't have branch here in Australia and banks in Australia do not take other bank cards over the counter..
    Which ATM has $2500 limit

    • ..banks in Australia do not take other bank cards over the counter

Yes they do. They accept all Visa and Mastercards.

      Or is it something else?

Pretty hard to advise when you provide scant details.

  • Do you already have the card or is this a planned way of transferring funds? It would be cheaper to use a money transfer site.

    • I already have card.. its my parents who are here for visit from overseas

  • Also, in Australia the card issuer usually puts a daily ATM withdrawal limit (usually between $800 and $1200 per day). Not sure if your overseas issued travel card has the same restrictions.

Are you really complaining about/trying to evade having to pay $15 to withdraw $5000AUD, using an international travel card, internationally? This equates to a 0.3% transaction fee.

I'm sorry to come off doubtful but not even I'm that stingy. Somethin ain't right herrrrreeeeeeeee - my advice is bikies
