        i like wisc's option…

    • think I'm going to lump this one…

one the heck does that mean anyway?

      • its a polite alternative to using a certain swear word

umm this doesnt appear where it is meant to how do i delete a post?

        • you don't but don't stress, when someone else posts on the first page this one will link to the relevant post.

i am sorry but i thought the neg was your own personal opinion on how you viewed it from your point of view (ie if you agreed the deal was good or bad)

if someone else had to decide from their view if my opinion was valid or not then there would not be much point to the whole system would there?

  • -6

ok my vote was revoked? - so it puts that whole system into question if someone else can decide how you vote for you

love to see that in the elections "we dont like who you voted for, so we changed your vote for you as we disagreed"

    • +3

read the voting guidelines, the reason that they are there is because some people are b'stards and love to give negs for nothing… bit unfair.

ozbargains from my understanding works on the principal of innocent until proven guilty.

if its good enough for our courts, its good enough for me!

you pretty much said "you had such a good deal it sold 150 units under an hour!!! so that makes it bad"

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

have a read of that, i think its pretty clear cut in this situation.

If you would like to start discussion regarding negative voting, feel free to start a thread in "site discussion". The rules were created by the mods, but were backed up by the community. In the past community members have made suggestions, most of which have adjusted the rules. imho its fairly diplomatic.

resisted the urge for a personal attack…

"Please do not vote negative just because a deal is sold out. If the title of a deal needs to be updated to reflect the deal no longer available, please use the REPORT link instead for mods to update the deal. Negative votes made for this reason will be revoked by mods. "

        so yep, pretty clear cut…

        • Oldtvgear, your credibility is shot when you immediately vote negative to all their deals straight away. If you're too slow to get these deals then its your own badluck. Goes to show how good the deals are.

Let's be clear. They didn't CHANGE your vote, they REVOKED your vote.

There's too many people on this site now. I wish they did something to reduce it so bargains won't disappear so quickly.

    • LOL…..

      oh your serious?

      • +1

Yea, I'm dead serious - bargains use to last for a while last year and the year/s before that. Now if we have a legit bargain it'll disappear in 10 mins.

Not to mention spammers on the website as noted by the mods. Most of the bargains on here aren't really 'true' bargains if you know what I mean.

The popularity of the site would also mean that a person would be disinclined to post it on this website due to the influx of bargain hunting competitors lol.

        • +1

I was going to argue with you…. but you do have a point…. DAMN!

influx of people means more bargains posted though… that we may have missed in the past.

          • +1

@wisc: there is also a potential advantage to having more people on here. more people hunting for bargains that get posted on here too. IN THEORY…

EDIT: and yeah wisc… a good argument is always fun ;)

          • @wisc: this is why we all should vote for Julia Gillard. we don't need a big Australia, we need a sustainable Australia! ;)

        • +3

plus…don't you think that it is because of ozbargain's popularity that you have reps responding to queries, etc? If this were a small, private community, sales reps are likely to go to busier ones.

enjoy the good and deal with the bad…part of life

          • @bigsue19: very valid point… completely agree

          • +1

@bigsue19: good point and we do get exclusive oz bargain deals…

…though that said, on the other hand, the reps don't have to work as hard for it…

    • its both a positive and negative effect of the sites popularity, the other negative is we get lots of spammers/sockpuppeters.

    • These are weird thoughts. Why don't you suggest more retailers give us more bargains?
It's like saying there are too many people in Australia and some should leave so others can have a better life.
Actually it is the opposite. It is just because there are not enough people on this site that we don't get as many bargains as we should.

    • So what you're saying is that you're selfish and want all the bargains to yourself….
