LG G3 Replacement Battery

My LG G3 Battery has died. Where does one even buy a genuine battery from these days?

Comments

  • Amazon has a few. I'm sure you could find one locally, if you spent some time on google + phoning local shops.

IMO, 'genuine' is over-rated. It'll just have a LG logo on the outside, it'll still be some other brand on the inside. LG doesn't make their own batteries. You've also got a 2+ year old phone … make sure it's worth the outlay for a genuine battery vs 2 x generic ebay battery.

    • +1

LG produces batteries too, under their subsidiary 'LG Chem'. It is very likely they produced their own batteries for their flagships to achieve a lower cost.

      • Interesting, but it still doesn't reveal the full supply chain.

A hypothetical example, LG Chem might do the design and research for some battery products, but the end manufacturing is left to some 3rd party factory in china/korea (other low cost country). The same factory might also produce the generic batteries being sold on ebay.

  • I've always replaced batteries with generic ones from ebay or aliexpress (always checking for good feedback). haven't had an issue.

  • Replaced mine too recently - got it on eBay recently, arrived within 3 days and worked perfectly.

  • I bought one on ebay. worked perfectly fine (in fact still does but now have a V20).
I got it from http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/alltech_australia in March 2016. It said New Genuine Original Replacement Battery for LG G3 D850 851 855 BL-53YH 3000mAh whether it is genuine or not doesnt matter to me, it works and is fine.
cost $18 seller is Aust based so arrived quick.

  • I bought the 7500 mah ones from ebay. total scam. same performance. also checked with accubattery app 2750 mah. go for the original one.
