Why on earth would you use bottled water to make ice when you can use tap water??
Have you tried the tap water in Adelaide or Perth? Even Brisbane is a bit iffy.
Brisbane seems to taste better when its cold or maybe that's just my opinion.

In Brissy it seems to vary a lot by suburb / location. At my previous house it was all good but at a mate's place 5km away it tasted like mud. Awful stuff.

I grew up drinking boiled water. After moving to Adelaide, I honestly don't find tap water here bad.
