This thing is running at 720p. The ipad Mini 4 is running at 2048x1536. That is 3.41 times the Switch's resolution. Keep that in mind.
To me, just like all Nintendo products, it looks very Fischer Price.
Also 2.5-6 hours battery life.
If you can get this and leave it sealed, it will be worth several hundreds, possibly over a thousand later.

That thing's value to its intended audience—the collector—is far above $189.
Supply and demand my friend. This is a bargain, though maybe not to you. If there are people willing to pay more than that, it's actually being sold at below optimal price for Nintendo.
If you see this thing as just a game, I would suggest you go for the standard edition. It's like asking, why would you pay $600k for a car? Where is the bargain in that? I'd say you're missing the point.
@lostn: have you compared the specs against an iPad mini 4 yet? If it is stronger than iPad mini 4 I think the view as a gamer then it justifies the price if IOS vs NOS isn't a factor here.
