Has anyone here been fine by transports before? Best course of action?

Lost my transperth card. Went online to cancel autoload. Can't be bothered to report police. Received infringement letter about a month later w 100$ fine. What's the best course of action to explain card was not in possession when infringement happened?

  What was the fine for? I've never heard of being fined for losing your transport card? Or did someone travel without tapping on and then use your card as ID when caught?

  Yeh someone must hv found it n used it and maybe did not tag on n off.
