For the men out there who don't know what these are. They are Perfumed air fresheners. A 90ml bottle is supposed to leave the room smelling nice for 3-4 months without the risk of burning your house down with scented candles.

air wick sells these things in woolworths. 30 mls for $10 https://www.woolworths.com.au/Shop/Browse/bags-food-wraps-cl…

the ones from dusk is a bargain at $5 per 90ml bottle or $1.60 per 30ml if comparing it to air wick in woolworths.

  • Equals to 90% off RRP

No, it does not. It's 80%
    100 * 0.5 = 50 (half price)
    50 * 0.4 = 20 (further 40%)
    100 * 0.2 = 20

Still sounds like a good deal though!

    • +2

      Actually it's 70%
      (50 * 0.6 = 30)

      • (50 * 0.6 = 30)

        Where does 0.6 come from?

        • +1

          40% off, leaves 60% remaining… so 'X' * 0.6 is 40% removed from 'X'

being bargain people you would think we would be better at maths ;)

        • on second thought it is 70% off haha

        • -2

          @SBOB:

Sorry buddy, not sure if you're joking or just struggling but for the benefit of the guy who came up with 70%…

Further 40% off on 1/2 priced items

Getting the correct result isn't all about numbers. Looks like English is the problem rather than math.

          Further
          adjective
          - additional to what already exists or has already taken place, been done, or been accounted for.

          Items are already half price
          Half price = 50%

Now go back and see if you can understand aft's calculation

          @OzBragain:

I'm sticking with my 'should be better at maths' line,

Lets just take the example of something thats $100, to make things easy…

          1)
It was 50% off, so it was discounted to $50
          2)
A further 40% discount has been applied for this sale.
Looking at the sale items, this is 40% off the already discounted price (e.g the OPs link has a $25 discount item ending up at $15)
So, 40% off the $50 sale price makes this now $30

So the original $100 item is now, after those two discount 'steps' $30
Thats a total discount of 70%

I cant believe people need basic maths explained to them!

now go back to aft's explanation and see if you can understand where they incorrectly discounted the sale price by 60% instead of 40%

        • @SBOB:

          I stand corrected.

I mistook 40% of 50% off 100 as being the final result.

Looks like I need more sleep.

    • i am confused so i just deleted that part off from my post. lol

  • This sale is also running in stores and stock will vary as they are mostly clearance items.
Dusk Rewards members also receive a further 5% off these items (and 10% off full priced items) as well as half price shipping.

    • +1

Dusk Rewards will also cost you $10. WTF?

      • Yes, but within 48 hours you get a $10 voucher. Plus I think you get a birthday voucher on your birthday. Was either $10 or $20 on your birthday, I can't remember.

        • Correct there'll be a $10 voucher sent to your email upon registration as well as a $20 voucher for your birthday. Both with no minimum spend.

The membership is a 2 year subscription with 10% off full priced items and 5% off discounted items. There are also occasional VIP events with extra discounts.

        • @notpotatoman:

Looks like the 2 items suggested ny OP are out of stock. Any store in vic still have stock?

      • $20 for Adairs member and $50 for Costco so it's not exactly the most expensive retail membership out there.
