Officeworks currently sells iPad Air 2 128GB for $619 and Dick Smith (AKA KOGAN) sells them for $629.
Dick Smith stocks are from Hong Kong which is stated on the product page. However, Officeworks don't state where the stock is from.
I guess you could naturally assume it's from Australia but it was just too cheap compared to other places.
They're cheap because it's the old model on clearance.
It's a similar price at other retailers. Good Guys/JB Hifi/Harvey Norman all had it around that price when I was shopping for one 4 months ago. Their prices weren't advertised so I had to ask. They all had different colour, capacity, and price varietals of remaining stock.
The iPads from Officeworks they make you wait while they order one in direct from Apple by request, so it's a bit of a process.
Not trying to be a smartass; can I ask what difference does it make? Aren't they all made in China?
Local stock gets ACL cover meaning arguably a 2 year warranty. It is also inc GST, making it claimable for a business or traveller via TRS - potentially resulting in a 10% rebate.

Receipts must be provided in order to claim the rebate. This is to prevent fraud

If you buy from Kogan the receipt is from Kogan Hong Kong with no GST or ABN, so no ACL applies (though I would like to see someone take them on, as I think they are on shaky ground).
