I just signed the docs for the house and land packages in western sydney and paid $4000 deposit which is non refundable. I am waiting on the contracts of the land from the seller to my solicitor. What are the things that i should do and pay attention on and what are the things that i should change before the building contract is prepared. Help this first home buyer folks!!

If you didn't sign a contract of sale, what did you sign and pay a deposit for ?
Do you mean you have exchanged contracts, but it hasn't been settled yet ?
I paid the deposit for the holding of the house and land packages. This money will go towards the land afterwards. I have not exchanged any contracts and still waiting for them to send the docs to my solicitor.
Can you please clarify: did you sign a contract to buy the land AND house, or just the land and you can use any builder of your choice?
