  • Does anyone have any feedback in regards to picture quality? This looks enticing price wise and I see hisense getting a lot of love for some of their sets.

    • I have had one a few months now….and for the price easily worth it….. only watch HD through foxtel and nothing 4K.

bought another for the shed at this price.

  • I'm no TV expert so any advice whether to get this one or
    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/tv-blu-ray-home-theatre/tvs/t… ?

    • They are both series 3 so I think virtually identical performance, so just a preference on aesthetics and size

      • Thanks :)

        • Btw, I saw both in store at HN. Couldn't tell much difference, so ended up getting the 58". Early days but happy so far with it!

A quad-core processor inside this Hisense smart TV allows seamless playback as well as quick 4K upscaling.

So is it true 4K or?

    • +6

Look at the resolution. Yes, its 4K. But almost all content you'll watch is not 4K source, hence it has to upscale it. No different to any other TV where the source is not the native resolution of the screen.

      • Well the golden question is, will this work with an xbox one s for 4k?

        • Why wouldn't it? I think what your asking is if it will support HDR10, And it's unlikely.

        • @apoptygma:

Yes that's what I was asking, thanks

        • +3

Well, it is what you meant. It is not what you asked. :)

  • Is this a review of a very similar model? https://www.avforums.com/review/hisense-55k321-LTDN55K321UWT…

  • +4

I have a 58" 4K Hisense (I assume there's only one model?). It's true 4K, and the picture quality is awesome for the money.

Netflix and Youtube buttons on the remote are very convenient.

Only issue: some 4K Netflix content is jerky when it pans around. Mostly the pretty nature demo reels. I haven't tried with an external player.

Looks like good reviews from the limited no of reviews:-

    http://www.productreview.com.au/p/hisense-58k322uw.html

    Also 3 year warranty.

It is the same price on Goodguys Ebay. Shame HN havn't listed it on ebay or would be 20% cheaper with the current discount deal!

    Thanks for the post OP

I bought this for $895. The apps YouTube and SBS on demand are pretty good. Have not tried Netflix. Picture quality is much better than my 8 year old bravia. I have not tried gaming yet although it has a gaming mode. Start up time is around 15 seconds which was reported by other people as well.

Sound is not as good as my old Sony. I connected it to my sound system so it does not matter.

Unfortunately nothing on the panel in regards to latency, viewing angle, colour range, etc.

Bought it for $798 last September.

Absolutely love this TV so far.

Netflix and Youtube buttons on the remote are amazing. Nothing to watch on TV ? Just click and watch videos on Youtube / Netflix.

Also come with Plex installed on it, but had some ratio crop issue with 1080p movies. But I'm using my android TV Box with Kodi anyway.

4K with Netflix 4K is great, but can't compare as this is my first 4k TV.

Overall really good TV for this price.

Only downside is EPG is taking some time to show, and you have actually to each channels to have it refreshed.

    • How's the picture quality on these? Also, does it take awhile to start up?

      • Mine takes around 10 seconds to power on.
Plus it takes probably around 2-3 seconds to change channels.
Other than that it's a great TV for the price.

        • +4

2-3 seconds would be a deal breaker for me.

I recently purchased the 50 inch Series 7 Hisense (this one listed is the series 3 i think). I can just say as others have above that the netflix and youtube buttons on the remote are like a dream. Having had samsung tv's forever, this is a nice touch.

The UHD and 4K is amazing. These panels are fantastic. I would say even better than most other tv's on the market. Can see the make up on the face of the news lady on 9HD and the cricket has been really awesome to watch on this hisense i have.

    • I was looking at the 7-series in the store and trying to compare it with Sony. One of the sales person actually recommended series 7 over all other ones. Not sure about that judgment, but was impressed by quality of it.

    • Yes a lot of great reviews for the current 7 series models. Couple of sites rate the picture quality better than Samsung and LG which is a great improvement over earlier models.

    • If I may ask what's the deal you've got for it?

      • The 50 inch @ JBHIFI was listed for $998 and I got it for $899

not bad for a great TV in bedroom

  • 100hz refresh rate not too bad

  • I know a lot of the cheaper brand (and some of the more expensive ones) TV's have rubbish speakers. Anyone know if the one's in this unit are semi-decent? Considering it for the bedroom - so it doesn't need to be booming or anything…

    • Yeah the speakers are fine. No tinniness or rattle, more volume than you will need for a bedroom. Got one in our lounge room.

  • For those that bought it, what sort of car were you able to fit this into? Just wondering if it'd fit in a corolla

  • Specs are really good on this, actually tempted.

  • So does this support 10bit HDR ?

    • +2

No it's not a HDR screen.

  • damnit i bought panasonic 50" UHD for the same price :/

    • +3

Well unless you needed the bigger size at your viewing distance you'll be better off with an EPG that loads all the channel info quickly and can flick channels without a 2-3 second delay as one reviewer above mentioned. Panasonics are the best for that I believe. I personally can't stand TV's with program guides that don't load the channel information until you select the channel and wait, defeats the purpose and convenience of a guide completely.

  • What's the best way to play 4k HEVC files on this? I bought one during the last sale and have found it impossible to play locally ripped 4k files on my hdd. The inbuilt media app doesn't work.

    • I havent tried any 4K media, but with an android or windows box with the appropriate app installed on it.

      • +1

Yeah, the only thing I can see which consistently works with 4K on reviews is the Nvidia shield.

The MiiBox, Chromecast 2 etc all seem to struggle with 4K especially local content :( Don't feel motivated to spend $300+ on a Nvidia shield for a handful of 4K titles I have.

In the end the 4K feature is kind of useless.

        • Ive got a cheapo 4K android box. like i said i havent tried any 4K media.

    • The tv doesn't have the horsepower for the price but i use a Chromecast Ultra then
Plex it across from PC Locally 4K HEVC makes my current cpu run hard but new intel kaby lake cpu upgrade should bring that down to 5% usage and then im set :)

  • We bought the 55 inch model about 6 month ago.
The only complaint we have is that it takes a a while to start-up and another 2-3 seconds after the picture appears to be able to change volume/channels.

The TV didn't come with an antenna cable, so if you are getting the TV not as a replacement of another, i suggest getting that cable as well.

I bought this TV on Boxing day. Think the price then was $888 but I had some vouchers I had to use by the end of the year.

The TV is awesome, especially coming from a 6yo plasma. The sales person was even giving it props over the more expensive Samsung I was also looking at which I found odd considering their job is to sell expensive stuff! I had already read reviews (on here) and was more than happy with getting this TV.

Picture quality is awesome, can be a bit jumpy with upscaled movement, but this is rare. I do get a flickering bar at the top of the screen every now and then but it is rare and only when it has auto increased picture size to fit and some just aren't quite high enough. Turn the channel and its gone so its not a panel issue.

TV Guide can be slow to load channels as mentioned above. Not sure how this differs from others but turn on time is 20-22secs. I know this as I have to set the Harmony remote for 23secs for the TV to be fully initialised for it to read a input change.

Personally I love the TV for the price and have no regrets for my purchase!

    • Not sure how this differs from others >but turn on time is 20-22secs

      What! That sounds excessive!!

This is what I thought of

      https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTnfpgs…

      • Timed with a stop watch and counted multiple times. Not sure, if like most TV's, that others that time turn it off then straight back on, id imagine that will give a quicker bootup then one that has been off for awhile?

  • +1

Bought this couple months ago, really good price for this size TV. The picture quality is very, very nice. Downside that ive been finding out lately is it randomly loves to freeze up which switching off & on at the wall seems to fix, so no big deal yet. With the 3yr warranty gives peace of mind.

This seems to be an old runout model, so i dont expect there to be much stock

  • What a strange size. Wonder if there's any more room to move on price in-store. Was really angling for a 65" but am too impatient to wait for another Aldi deal.

    • Have you looked at the ChangHong at Bing Lee, or maybe the Polaroid at Big W?

  • How does this compare to Kogan's 55" Curved 4k for $749? https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-55-4k-curved-led-tv-ultra-hd/

Dont worry ^thats trash, This Hisense would be $994 shipped for me. Is there anything better quality/panel that would cost the same or bit more shipped?
