Personally, compared with Dineamic and dish'd:

  • Quality: Dineamic = dish'd > THR1VE
  • Quantity: Dineamic > dish'd = THR1VE

THR1VE has no click+collect option, unlike the others, and delivers meals cold/chilled with ice bags, not frozen (and no dry ice like dish'd).

$30 delivery fee? Tell 'em they're dreaming.

  • I've never subscribed to any other food service so cannot compare to Thr1ve's competitors but I can say I've had about 7 out of my 10 meals and all of them were very tasty and a good portion. Given was the first time I signed up to this, i was very anxious about the food being bland given it's supposed to be somewhat healthy. The salt content on some meals is slightly higher than what I'd normally consume but that would be my only gripe about this business. I've so far had their Chilli, Chicken cacciatore, Jerk Chicken, butter chicken, green curry and 2 more which i don't exactly remember as a reference guide.

  • I've had about 5 meals through them so far. I didn't like some of the chilli dishes, but others like the jerk chicken with mash are really quite tasty.

Over all I was a little surprised at the fat content of the dishes though. Some, like the Roast Chicken with Ratatouille (36.8g fat), are quite high for a small(ish) single meal. Reading the ingredients though, it all looks pretty healthy. I guess the fats are coming from the chicken (thighs not breast, with skin on) and they use ghee in the mash.

It's pretty nice and I love that they come fresh not frozen, but I'm looking for something that'll help more in the weight loss department. But I'd still recommend giving it a try. As a comparison I've also tried Light & Easy, and to me, that really was like the bland frozen meals you get at the supermarket. So Thr1ve is much better!

  • My 1st order just arrived, already the portions look a little larger than youfoodz.
Yet to try the food, but have to say a not entirely happy that order needed to be made 8-10 days prior to the delivery date (the reason i stopped using youfoodz, that and the fact the meals got boring), and looking at the used by dates, 1 is 8/3/17 (2 days from now) and the other 6 10/3/17 (4 days from now) which makes it a bad deal when ordering for 7 days.
The overall price of the food is more than youfoodz (even when on special) and the delivery fee is horrible (would be easier for me to have ubereats deliver 6 days in a row).
I wanted 7 meals, but also had to (+ a couple of snacks) to make it free delivery with the promotion they had, however seeing as their food used by date is only 4 days after the delivery, can not see myself rushing to do it again.

I will endeavour to give feedback on the taste once I get through the meals.. but thought I would share the initial findings/experience for now.
