Saw the advertisement on Herald Sun. However could not find anything on their website.
On the advertisement it said:

The Swanston subway opposite state library has always been asshats about coupons. I can't imagine them honoring this deal.
Local place I went to once, cracked a real egg, but then microwaved it in a cardboard container. Yargh
you gotta cook the egg somehow .. and best way to do it is in the microwave :D
It hasn't improved all that much. No real eggs in sight. Just a pancake of scrambled "egg" slapped on a 6-inch bun and some weird, stretchy bacon. I would possibly eat it again if I was poor (normally $2) and in a hurry, but won't rush back.
What about other states? Anyone in Adel find it in our SA newspapers?

I just came back from the store at 235 Exhibition St, and they flat-out refused to provide the free bacon and egg, even though I had the original ad from the Herald Sun! They said that head office has told them nothing about the offer, and therefore they cannot honour it. I argued for a few minutes, then I thought it really wasn't worth the effort. Amazing!
Subway at 528 Lonsdale St MELBOURNE also refused to honor the deal. I think that it's time to lodge a complaint
What was their excuse? This mob are an absolute joke.

UPDATE: I phoned 97 Elizabeth St, 104 Exhibition St & 15 Swanston St - bingo, they knew nothing, and weren't prepared to honour it. Great PR stunt by Subway. Yep, time to lodge a complaint.
UPDATE UPDATE: 4 people from my work printed out the ad, and went to 235 Exhibition St. No questions asked - the two workers were more than happy to provide the freebie! If you see my earlier post, I went there at 8am and the same people refused. Maybe they got 'the' call from head office?
UPDATE No.3: 235 Exhibition is handing out bacon and eggs to anyone that walks in the store. No voucher required. 21 minutes left!
Listening to 3AW this morning a lady from Eltham tried to redeem the offer and was told she needed the original Herad Sun ad. Stuff like this amazes me. You would think if large companies run promotions such as this they would organise it smoothly, make all their franchises or shops aware and be over accommodating to people — it is obviously a move to win new customers. Such a deal run like this will now backfire and be give them a bad and untrustworthy name.
Went to 235 Bourke St, they refused to give me free coz the company told not to give to customer without coupon, what happen if heard from radio? record the voice? They said if I have problem I should go talk to the company. :(
I got mine for free at 580 Collins Street. I took 3 colleagues as well, so it's definitely a valid deal. No coupon required

went to the subway on swanston, opp state library. the lady there said it has to be from the paper and refused to except my copy. won't be going back. seems unfair there is a mixed message around the city with some enjoying their free breakfast and those not!
I just went and got mine… tell ya what though, I've never seen such a sour lady as the one that served me. Guessing she might've been the owner!

Rang a few stores who said they weren't doing it. Went up to Croydon main street where they served us straight away no problems and no coupon needed. Great morning tea and something a bit different!
Stores saying that they have not been told is not true. I have been to Syndal Store in Glen Waverley on Friday. I was told that Herald Sun is going to come up with an offer of a free sub. This seems to be more a case of particular staff in some of the store being not advised by their managers.
