Just had my car serviced at the dealer and they want an astronomical price for a new battery for my i40.
I have no idea about prices and where would be the best place to get a good battery fitted for the best price. I am in Perth's north.

How much is the quote and what is the battery model?
^ this
OP, can you tell us what the astronomical price was for future reference? I dont want to be charged galaxical price when that happens to me…
I always use Battery World. They know their stuff.
Around me kmart sells batteries, and are the cheapest I could find.
is the i40 a start stop engine? Batteries for these cars are crazy prices with a small warranty compared to normal car batteries.
Try you local auto group (what ever is your version of RACQ) thats who we got our last battery from, I thought it was an OK deal.
Why don't you describe the thing properly "Best place to get new battery for my car Hyhundai i40" instead of "Best place to get new battery for i40" ?
What's i40 ? A laptop model ? A camera model ? A mobile phone model ? lol
what's a Hyhundai ?
;)
Nice pick, Hyundai :)
why click on the forum if you don't know what an i40 is?
after clicking and reading a few comments you would've figured out that an i40 is a car.
but if you didn't want to read any comments, again why click on the link..
just commenting for the sake of commenting? erggghhh that's what I'm doing now.
An endless cycle isn't it.
Thanks to the people who have provided constructive advice. The price quoted at dealers was $280 but it was a verbal quote so I do not have the model.
My existing battery:
CMF-68L BCI 68AH (20HR) 600CA (SAE) 480 A
I have keyless entry so it's a stop start.
I looked at http://www.centurybatteries.com.au/resources/battery-finder and selected a petrol 2012 i40. The performance battery for that car is $215 at Supercheap Auto. So it would be $225 installed and they will do it on the spot.
Get one from Supercheap Auto and they will fit it for $10. Just go in store and they will help you out.
