I keep buying ~$100 headphones every year only for them to stop working after being stuffed into my pocket multiple times a day. At this point I feel like I might as well just invest in wireless ones. I guess I can pay more if this will be for a long time, but am hoping to spend not much more than $200

I did. I got as far back as November and found no actual results for wireless EARphones. Some for on-ear headphones, but that was it.
Jaybird X2, Freedom and X3 at least were within your budget with a deal at one point (from Amazon and from other places), I'd assume they'd come down to that price point once again (Especially X2 and Freedom, since X3 is the newest model). I am not sure about the quality of X3 and Freedom (since I don't own them), but X2 is nice. I've heard some people complaining about X3's build quality however, and that makes me little hesistant on recommending getting it from Amazon.
Other than that Beats X did look nice if you own a lot of Apple products since they would have simliar tech as Airpods (the auto pairing stuff with W1 chip). It charges with lightning cable which would be a plus for iPhone users and minus for Android phone users.
If you go to Chinese ones, QCY ones were nice and I've heard good thing about Meizu ones.
I have the Meizu EP51 and can say for $30 aussie dollaros, they're actually quite nice. I now pack these instead of premium ones because if they go missing I'll just go 'meh and buy another replacement.
They fit well and have half decent sound. Good clarity but lacking in bass. I'd much rather listen to my Bose SoundTrue Ultra or QC20's for most genres ($129 AUD / $300) but for a fraction of the price, Meizu's sound great at that sort of price range.
