[Resolved] Looking to Buy Some Earphones for Walking/Running/Riding

I was looking to buy some 'Samsung Iconx' earphones until I found out the battery is embarrassingly poor (you would be lucky to get 90minutes out of them).

I was thinking of getting either the 'Jabra Elite Sport' or 'Jaybird Freedom' although I wanted to see if anyone else had suggestions for which one to pick or if you suggest something else.

I currently have 'Sennheiser CX300II' which work great although I am looking to upgrade to wireless.

For a late Christmas present family have offered to pay around $300 and I am happy to put in extra if needed so price shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Cheers

EDIT: Just a review in-case someone else was looking here for suggestions.

I bought the Jaybird Freedom (carbon) and my girlfriend bought the same one in gold.

These have been working very well and so far I have not noticed any drop outs or interruptions.

One thing I did notice is that if you use the earphones to turn up/down the volume, the volume is only for the earphones and does not sync with the phone meaning the phone can be on max volume but the earphones can be on very low, resulting in the phone shows it should be loud and when I did not realise they were separate it created some confusion.

there are many bluetooth earphone threads… most of them will has the same suggestions. have a look?

for me, plantronic backbeat FIT is the best. because i dont like earbuds type of earphone, i dont like something stick inside to my earcanals - make my ear itchy and uncomfortable.

FIT doesnt stick in deep inside. it just "sit" there.
and the build is superb for sport. you wont be able to break it no matter how hard you try.

    • I never used to like in-ear although after trying them more and more, they became the best noise ive ever tried.

I will take another look through the threads once again :)

      Cheers mate

      • problem is, when you run or jog outside on the park or road side, you dont really want to block all the noise. well for safety reason obviously. what if someone trying to warn you because something going to hit you from behind?

noise cancellation is for flying on the plane.

        • Yeah some of the wireless ones, such as Iconx and Jabra elite sport give you to option to also hear around you which is a nice option to have.

If I am walking around the lake on the bike path, staying to my correct side I don't feel like I want to hear everything around me so I think it depends on the situation.

talking about battery, even if you want to spend $1000 you wont find it.
the technology is just not there yet, the smaller the device, the better the features, the higher the screen, the WORST the battery will be. thats all. end of story.
human is not capable yet to create better battery

  • I got the Meizu EP51 headphones <$50 recently. They were good for a while but then the battery died and I had to get a warranty return.
