Tyres - Directional Tyres Fitted Incorrectly on Used Car

Hi Guys,I purchased a used car from a new car dealer about 8 weeks ago.I am very happy with the car, part of the RWC (Melbourne) was a set of new tyres.

About 4 weeks after purchase, was checking pressures, noticed the word 'Inside' on the outside of the tyres. This apparently is a big no-no, car can aquaplane etc..they swapped them over OK

Moral of story is check your tyres. Maybe the cause of many accidents.

  • Yep…. pays to have an independent mechanical inspection.

The car was probably fitted with the tyres the wrong way around on the rims when the tyres were put on the car way back. The dealer/RWC wouldn't have bothered to check this. Probably the tyre shop apprentice…. :P

  • +1

There used to be an old joke in dirt bike circles about getting Trelleborg directional knobbies fitted backwards, the bike would accelerate poorly, but be awesome under brakes! ;)

  • Take it back to dealer and get them to fix
