Original image. I have just switched my website from USDHOSTING.com to Godaddy, I know there are a lot of godaddy haters out there but I have never had any issues with any of my clients and very helpful on phone ( I am Not associated with them )
managed to get me website up and running over night with the wordpress.
Thought for the price cant go wrong.

  • For anyone curious, the price goes up to $19.99/yr for a single domain plus another $7.99/mo for the Starter Managed Wordpress after the first year.

  • FWIW Technically I've also never had any major problem with them, other than not being a fan of their less than intuitive management interface (compared to, say, domain.com). Most people who have issues with GD it's less with the service itself and more with the antics of Bob Parsons (http://gawker.com/5787676/meet-godaddys-ridiculous-elephant-…).

Their hosting service is complete rubbish and insanely slow for anybody browsing from Australia. It also times out a lot. Source: have server monitoring on a lot of client websites before I switched them to any other half decent hosting.

    • what would you recommend for AU hosting?

I found GD service to be poor. Hosted with them for a while and every time I got in touch they had different policies: sometimes they can help me with issues on the server, other times they say I am on my own. They clearly don't have a consistent staff training approach and the support system to provide good customer experience. It goes beyond who own the company, to who runs the departments within the company.

    • Never Had any issues on phone when Clients had not renewed their Plan and Suddenly their Emails stopped working. Quick phone calls and all resolved in no time with renewing their subscription etc.
9 / 10 it was clients issues and not godaddys..

You should be ashamed for recommending clients to Godaddy.

And of course they were good on the phone - they want you to PAY.

      • That's comparatively simple task to what I was dealing with so not good rebuttal to my suggestion to stay clear of GD if you host on vps or dedicated and expect any level of support beyond the basics (without having to pay through the nose with mysterious levels of knowledge from their staff).
