A mate has a wedding in Koh Samui in Feb,
So I need to start trying to find flights over to there in the next few days.
Leaving CNS or BNE Or OOL anywhere after Jan 24 (Wedding is Feb 17)

Always cheap from OOL via scoot airlines / airasia (I'd recommend scoot, fantastic for the price, big seats and their fleet is brand new 787s which are awesome) ~$350 each way. Also 10% off now with coupon FLYBAG10. Out of BNE it's cheap now also on Singapore airlines for that class of airlines at ~$580 each way. I'm Moving back around then from those airports and been looking a lot. These prices are to Chiang Mai CNX which is where I'm moving to.
Use google flights to find deals, set a few basic criteria (eg exclude China Southern airlines, max 1 stop, max XX hrs is what I do), then click on the calendar and it will show you the cheapest days. Do this for BNE, CNS and OOL airports.

You can fly to Koh Samui.from kuala lumpur, Singapore, phuket, Bangkok so keep an eye on the specials.
The leg to Koh Samui Is rarely if ever discounted, but it's cheapest to fly from kuala Lumpur but there is not to many connecting flights.
I like jetstar out of the low cost airlines last time it was $400return ( to phuket from sydney then I caught the bus/ferry over which for 2 people was less then $40.
