Sorry, it's just….UGH! I hate pages that force themselves into teeny tiny little fixed pixel dimmensions inside my browser window. I have a 24" screen and I want to make use of it. When the page only wants to take up a 3rd of the available real estate, it's just annoying.
Might have to bust out greasemonkey/stylish and figure out how to script it back to normal if it stays like this.
Sorry guys, just my opinion.
@yamumma — Actually I doubt the old layout will look nice on a 24" screen with 1920 pixels across. As much as I like fluid layouts, I also realised that a website only looks best on the developers' screen.
By the way, if you happen to have a 24" LCD monitor, may I suggest that you don't maximise the browser window? You have so much screen real estate you can fit extra widgets on the screen to "multi-task". I too have a wide screen, but I always keep my Firefox/IE window at 1024 pixels wide.
