Fitbit Aria Wi-Fi Smart Scale [Black/White] $107 @ R.t. Edwards - Pickup Only, QLD?

100

Sorry if I've titled this wrong, first time doing this.

Thought i'd share because I don't see any past deals this low on the Fitbit Aria.

Seems like the online site only allows Pickups in-store, however there is a greyed out option that offers free delivery in metro areas if you spend more than 249$.

Also available in White

  • Good price if you're in the Fitbit ecosystem. It only detects weight and fat %, and syncs via wifi to your Fitbit account where your BMI will then also be displayed. Does not require the Fitbit app to be open to sync, unlike the XiaoMi scales.

There are smarter scales (and cheaper!) out there that do more measurements of other things, but when you just want to step on every morning and check out the pretty data later, these are pretty cool.

    • What other items would you suggest are worth paying for @kwchaz? You sound like u know your scales.

I've owned a set with the same capabilities as this one: http://www.harveynorman.com.au/connected-fitness-health/heal…

We're starting to see some smart scales that also have these features (like the Withings one), but they're quite expensive and as far as I can see, not yet available in Australia from a big retailer.

    • Even if you aren't in the Fitbit ecosystem, of which I am no longer, but log your food/exercise with MyFitnessPal, the Aria will still sync with MyFitnessPal. It does sync with other nutrition/exercise apps too without the use of a Fitbit, Apple Health being one of them drawing the data from MyFitnessPal.

      • Yeah you don't need a Fitbit itself, this goes straight to your Fitbit account, which from there can be pulled to other systems.

I'm awaiting yet another RMA for my Charge HR atm… :( So for now, only using my Aria.

        • Their customer service is faultless. I had 3 Ultras replaced over the course of my Fitbit phase. I certainly wouldn't hesitate in recommending them for that reason alone!

        • @carlenet:

Yeah my only 'issue' is that since it is the gen1 HR, they are on 'backorder' as the gen2 has come out. The email noted that if they were unable to allocate stock from the AU warehouses, I'd get sent one from their US warehouse. They had stock allocation problems the last time I RMA'd three months ago (yes, this unit only lasted 3mo :().

  • Tried price matching at Harvey Norman didn't work

    • Did they give a reason?

      • Something about not being a multi chain retailer

  • This might seem redundant but please be aware, you need internet access initially for this device to work. You can use it as a normal scale after it's been activated but you do need to connect it to the net to use it. I have one that's a paperweight now because for some reason it keeps failing to do initial sync after battery replacement and I can't even use it as a manual scale.

Check your Network settings - these things require 802.11b connections and latest firmware updates of Access Points remove some older 802.11b settings that the Aria needs - I've experienced this with an Apple Time Capsule as well as Unifi equipment (see: https://community.ubnt.com/t5/UniFi-Wireless/Fitbit-Aria-Sca…) - I got around it by setting up an old router with DD-WRT and using that as an access point, you could also trying setting up your scale using your phone as a hotspot to test

  • Wish I could get it for that price I'm sydney
