Very good case worth this price.
I've had my iPad Air 2 in this model of case since the first $619 (or was it $691?) Officeworks deal more than a year ago, carried it around in a tote bag that's been banged against various things as I walked around town, and dropped the iPad a few times. No harm has come to the iPad. It has a much nicer texture to hold (it's textured and rubbery) than a lot of the super-protective plastic cases I've seen, it's pretty thin as good cases go, and if you're not taking the tablet out into the wild (and not gifting it to a 10 year old to carry back and forth from school, where it will likely be used as a frisbee at least once), it'll probably do the job for you.
When I find it necessary to upgrade to a newer iPad, I'll get another of these cases for its successor. I've crossed paths with a few iPads at work over the years and none of them had a case I would trust to keep the tablet safe as much as I trust this one, except for one really thick and bulky plastic-y one that presented its own risk of being somewhat slippery to hold.
The only thing you need to be aware of is that after a bit of carrying it around, the edges of the lid will turn a bit white and very slightly fray or get rough from bumping into things. So the case itself will look a bit worn within months. However, if you look at how the case is constructed, it has a bit of an outer edge/lip around the lid to help protect the iPad from sideways impacts, and that area can take a lot of punishment before its protective ability is in any way compromised. So the iPad inside the case is still in brand new condition.
Are these Milspec? I need to play Angry Birds under combat conditions…
