I recently walked to the Brisbane airport passenger 1/2 hour pickup area and got an Uber from there. I avoided the BAC $3 ripoff, and the Uber driver doesn't get stung for a surcharge to the surcharge (yes really!) if there are any issues/delays >10min. And it's shorter for the Uber driver from their short term wait area. Unfortunately the Uber driver missed the entrance and had to go round the block again.
The guy was cool about it, but maybe he was just being nice.
I do think $3/10min parking which the passenger pays must be a world record. And I never had any issues with the old "free" (actually paid via Passenger Landing Charge to BAC) system where you got picked up just like any other traveler.
Any Brisbane Uber drivers here have issues with this?
Could the Uber driver get in trouble for avoiding the surcharge?
