GoPro Hero 5 - Now or Later?

Hi gang,

Long time lurker, first time poster..
I want to get a Hero 5 for an upcoming overseas trip (depart March 22).

JB Hifi - purchase after 23rd Jan (withing 60 days to departure)
* Get $550 worth of JB Hifi vouchers from Entertainment Book for $522.50. Use that to pay for the camera.
* TRS of the $550 price is $55 (?)
* So I pay: $522.50 - $55 = $472.5

OR…
Just or get it today from HN or TGG's $488 Boxing Day deal (I think today only price) - and no I don't have Amex.

What are the chances of more sales (at JB or others which I can get JB to match) from 23rd Jan to March 20th?

    So if you wait you get it cheaper and dont need a sale, so might as well wait?

    But something else you can do now is get jb to price match to use entertainment card discount?

    I just bought the goPro from HN last week when it was $497, going OS end of Jan so will TRS.

    However had I not fallen asleep at 1am last night, would have bought Gopro at $488 from TGG website before 5am to get $50 store credit but damn my xmas lathergic over eating and alcohol drinking, screwed up my Ozbargaining skills!

    Moral of story….dont drink and ozbargain during xmas.

    hey, buy it now. you get to play around with it for best settings and positions for footage before your trip. you may also neeed extra battery/sd card as well if you plan on taking lots of footage

    Buy closer to the date as it sounds like you only need it for the trip.

    There are sales every now and then and if you are not fussy about warranty there is always Gumtree and eBay.

    I sold a hero 4 silver+ on gumtree with some accessories for about $400 last year with around max $550 equivalent of cheapest staticice.com

    Thanks all.
    May initial feeling was to buy it now and try it around before the trip, but I think I'll wait for other sales after Jan 20ish but will give myself sometime to test it out.
