Am on the lookout for an Android phone. I have scanned through the Xiaomi post and do not want to purchase anything which isn't covered by warranty in Australia. I have a Chinese ulefone which hass broken in 7 months - gearbest wants me to ship it to China - which am going to do. This is just a hassle. I think am looking for something from local retailers. Which mobile has the most bang for buck around tomorrow ?

I am of the same opinion. We bought all new goods for our house a few years earlier and still dont see the same models selling for lesser than what we bought them for. We just got lucky - and the boxing day sales have really been a bummer of late. Thanks for the links. Cheers.

For a phone that probably cost less than a third of a comparable one bought locally, I think you did rather well, don't you think?
Absolutely. Not less than a third given I paid over 200 bucks. But I baby my phones and would have hoped this one lasted at least till end of warranty.
I am a tablet man ATM but if I had to get a mobile on a budget I'd go here
I did mention about this in my OP.I think Xiaomi makes relatively sturdier phones. So I am not ruling this deal out. Will keep an eye on it. Thanks

what's with people thinking that Boxing day is the best day for big discounts?
The deals are mediocre year after year and generally speaking we've seen better Black Friday deals for technology items than Xmas deals. We've even discussed this last year.
