  • Ozbargain needs an option to put a reminder for a few hours in the future rather than a full day.

    Thanks OP.

    • Perhaps you could use something else like your phone alarm?

      • Easier to just set a website reminder. I don't always use OZB on my phone.

Reddit has it so I don't see why we can't.

  • .au requires documentation yeah? Like an actual trading name etc?

    Crazy domains… Not even once

Read the thousands of complaints on Whirlpool before you give them your business

Buy the domain and transfer out. Easy.

      • So then you're looking at $5 x2 + ~$23 at a reputable registrar for 3yrs worth. Works out to roughly $11/yr. That's not too bad.

For a list of prices, have a look at http://www.domainnameprices.com.au/

About 3 days ago I transferred out 2 .com.au domains for free.

      • @Less Point That would probably be my standard recommendation but why not screw them over, they have no problems doing it to their customers.

@nurries is right transfers out for .au domain names are free. So register and immediately transferred out.

Don't you need to pay for another year somewhere else if you transfer?

If not, that's awesome and news to me!

        • @NiteMice:

Don't you need to pay for another year somewhere else if you transfer?

That is indeed the case on most other extensions, that you need to pay for a domain name renewal when you transfer it to a new registrar you do get an additional year however on .au domain names transfers are free provided, there's more than a few weeks left on the domain name.

If not, that's awesome and news to me!

You also don't have to rely on the registrar with .au domains to retrieve your EPP Code/Domain Password. Provided you can access the email address listed in the WHOIS System you can request one sent to you here.

This is all you should need to transfer your .au domains.

  • I've never had a problem. I like that I can add MX records for free so I can attach Zoho mail to the domain.

    • That's a recent change, late last year, that was a paid feature with them and the DNS hosting functionality was more expensive than transferring a domain name out to another registrar in most cases.
