Hi guys, We moved to Australia 2 years back,bough a small land and planning to build a house with Mimosa . Would like to take your suggestions regarding the builder and what to consider most while constructing a house. i am more interested in improving the quality and security of the house.
Please share your experiences with Mimosa and your inclusions which would make good quality house

Keep a file of all correspondence. Check everything. You won't be allowed on site without supervision due to OH&S - but go onsite anyway and be friendly. It's only while you are onsite that you can see if things are looking ok or not. We changed our bathroom size and a few other things during the build as a result of sneaky site visits. We also told them that they had incorrectly completed work before it had all been finished. This helped them out as well.
I didn't build with Mimosa by the way - I went with a tier 2 player.

As for a new house… one common fault is double garages are not really double… usually too narrow.
Check the width of the plan you like.. you can make them larger.
Also usually have no storage area for mower, ladder, etc or room for a work area. Unless you plan to build a storage / work area later see if you can make allowance for that also.
