It's like comparing chocolate (MSI or gigabyte) to dog poop (gainward)
Cheers mate, will keep holding off then, I am more of chocolate person :P
There aren't a lot of difference in performance between all GTX 1080 cards. People only despise one over other more due to look, but then you know beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So I think this is a fine card.
The Gainward looks like ass imho, but it has a beast of a cooler:

(Also, Palit is basically a Gainward rebrand.)
For the lazy, coolest and quietest of the bunch, inclusive of the Strix, Gaming G1, and Gaming X.
My 570 was gainward. Worked perfectly fine till it was replaced with a 970.
My friend also had a 660 that they never had issues with. If someone complains about them without justification, it is probably just their lack of knowledge.
Gainward back in the day was actually considered a very good brand, especially their top tier cards like their phantom range. Right now not so much.
I've been through a few gainward cards none have died on me but i buy and trade all the time so i don't ever own anything all that long. I had a very nice pair of phantom gtx 580's for awhile
Gainward may or may not be a good brand, but it isn't very famous, so its resale value may not be as high.
I'd personally only buy it if I planned to stick with a 1080 for a few years.
That's one ugly looking 1080
Hmm anyone know how this one compares to the MSI or gigabyte G1 1080? Been waiting for them to stop to around $700-800
