nah Its real omo - but its from vietnam. Its not up to australian quality standards.
I think this is equal to the cheapest brands you can buy here. (surf?)

Note that you have to use "at least 2 scoops" so 1kg is actually 0.5. (whereas all the AU ones are now 2x concentrate with a tiny scoop)

where is the Australia one made in?

  • -1

this has been on 1-day many times before and as pointed out ever time it is the crappy vietnamese omo. wouldn't trust it.

Maybe we should call it the Ono! Washing Powder. :)

  • Wishing someone would comment that has actually used this. I've bought a 12kg box (cheap as chips, 0S manufactured) and it was the same old, great performing OMO, that I used for 15 years before the new 'concentrate' came on the market. Just wondering if it's cheap because it's not the new concentrate.

    • Well you can work it out yourself whether it's a bargain. Assuming you have to use twice as much, this means you are paying $26 for 6kg equivalent in this deal = $4.33/kg, maybe less if you buy it at a variety store, dunno. What are you paying for AU made concentrate?

Also consider the OMO miles of this OS product. :)

Me I just use one scoop of the slightly lower brands in the Choice list, Duo, and my clothes are just fine. I think OMO and Drive top that list but you pay a premium. BTW, if your wash water comes out feeling very soapy, you can use less powder. Mfrs include a scoop in the box so that you tend to use more than needed.

If you buy "duo" at the supermarket when its on sale - it comes to $2 for 1kg (or 500g because of the 2x concentrate)

that would make this product 2x more expensive than the 2nd tier brands.
Real omo is around $6 /kg regular price and $4 on special at the supermarket.

Thanks greenpossum and voter1. The OMO threads seem to get lots of discussion about it being a lesser product rather than the actual 'bargain/price factor'.

….. "Mfrs include a scoop in the box so that you tend to use more than needed"

With the 'old OMO' I found using 1/2 a scoop (rather than 2 scoops) gave perfect results. The recommended 2 scoops gives slimy clothes and powder marks. The new concentrate I use about 2/3 of the recommended dose to get perfect results.

@7Alice7: half a scoop instead of two? i'm sorry, that's just dirty.
also your logic is stupidly flawed, you're saying you use more of the concentrate than you did of the old stuff for apparent "perfect results"

              @miq: Gee thanks :(

If you had used this product you would know the old OMO (aust) never recommended 2 scoops (it was 1 scoop)and the scoops were much larger than the scoops now provided with the concentrate. If you had used a washing machine you would know that they have varying water holding capacity and load sizes (measured in kg) and clothes have varying degrees of dirtiness.

With so many variables, anyone with commonsense would adjust the powder dosage to suit their particular situation. If you bought a box of cheap powder that said use 2 scoops and your clothes come out slimy, you don't keep using the same amount do you? I don't know why the OS powders say to use 2 scoops but from my experience they are the same as the old OMO formula. Incidentally not everyone believes the manufacturers have made the new formula EXACTLY 2x concentrate.

I believe you negged this deal because you wouldn't trust a washing powder made in Vietnam!! Why not try something for yourself so you can actually add useful comments to a thread rather than just negging for the sake of it.
