$289 Xbox One S 500GB Console Bundles (Minecraft or FIFA 17) @ JB Hi-Fi

$289 Xbox One S 500GB Console Bundles @JB Hifi Minecraft or FIFA 17

Update Harvey Norman has now dropped their price to $299
They have the Halo Bundle for $299

For those that are thinking of price matching with Harvey Norman. This is what the Norman LiveChat stated (eventhough it is "in-stock" at jb). Close the chat down if you get ANHA, hopefully you will get another operator with multiple web browsers. Anha is a road block "in-stock" versus not being "in-stock", not sure how JB could be any clearer that they have it "in-stock". It is good that that support agent has a distinctive name (in the name of ozbargain):

We can't price match that bundle due to the fact that JB Hi Fi is out of stock of that bundle. We can only match items that are in stock.
Client
Thanks I'll make sure I'll put that on ozbargain
Thanks.

Yep, good healthy competition.. For once us consumers are winning

    • Lol, usually they are competing who'll have a higher price and still make a sale coz you don't have any other options.

Good deal. Microsoft Store will be dropping all 500GB bundles to $299 delivered from midnight tonight as well.

Wonder if Harvey Norman will price match that. They claim that JB Hifi do not have it in stock and they can't price match JB. Come tomorrow, Microsoft at $299, they might also state that they don't have it in-stock and won't match it.

      • May do. They had them for $299 last week.

      • They wont price match with manufacturers ( that's one of many exclusion eg:Offers by any resellers, classifieds, auction sites, manufacturers, distributors or importers)

      • they don't match online they match bricks and mortar, if it's an interstate store they add the postage to the price match.

    • Wow. Great. I was talking to Microsoft online chat and asked if they will have more discount for current pricing of $349. They staged that Boxing day sale is coming, but could not say when with more savings. I like the dark green color. Is it a good time to buy or wait for next year more expensive console…. Decisions.

  • Just got the fifa bundled price matched at Harvey Norman.

    • That's amazing if you still had the amex deal. 189 for an Xbox and a game…wow

      • would need to add something for 11$ to get thw cash back

        • Yeap, but pretty sure you can find something to add up. Maybe cheap pressie for kids, etc.

        • price matched memory card is what i filled out my amex deal with .

    • thanks was 299 at HN couple days ago also

    • Did you buy on back-order?

      • No got an email link to use for 24 hours. Need to find something to add to ensure its over $300 to get my Amex $100 cashback.

        • You did it over the phone? LiveChat didn't allow for it. I have posted it at the body of this. But I guess if others try and have a good hit rate, well done! Unfortunately, didn't work for me.

        • @deal junkie: Yeah HN price match is a hit and miss. Quite frustrating

  • No it was live chat literally 5 minutes ago.

    • You wouldn't happen to have the person's name?

  • Michael was his name. I actually took a screenshot but I don't think I can attach in here.

Live Chat ends at 10pm, so it might have to be 6.30am to try to track him down. For anyone that gets "Anha" just close the chat and hopefully another person will pop up instead of "Anha" - road block. Talking to the brick wall arguing that it is "in-stock" and what not. Wastes alot of your time. Open multiple browsers, hopefully you get a "Michael".

  • Does this come with Kinect ?

    • +3

Nope. None of the S models do.

You can buy an adapter separately, or if you have the old model and upgrade to an S you can redeem one for free. You need to lodge a form with the serial number if both systems and the Kinect unit.

Seriously Gerry Harvey needs to either back the price match policy or don't offer it all all. Constantly finding excuses to not price match products is not doing his company any good.

    • +1

I'm not sure how much clearer JB Hifi can be "in-stock". It's good that you managed to score the deal though. Well done. I find that Officeworks are really good with their price match policy. They make it fast and efficient. Always have had a great experience with them! Harvey Norman - like pulling teeth!

    • +3

True, its not worth a pinch of s..t (ps the word is not salt)
I had them reject price matching / beating a computer part price advertised by a small computer shop in town because they supposedly couldn't buy it that cheap. They told me their buy price was another $20 more, so I said fine, sell it to me for that (to save going to the other shop) and they refused again.

They commented the shop was already beating their prices and told me they didn't have to price match it because it was 'unreasonable' and 'below cost price'. I wasted time calling it at the local HN thinking their policy meant something (the price beat policy it was painted in huge letters on the HN building), and instead drove across town and bought it from the grateful small business, wondering why I would ever shop at HN again.

Seriously how can a small business have more buying power than HN… they are doing it wrong!!?
How can I believe them on what their cost is? Ditch the policy HN - It creates dislike for the brand when it isn't honoured!

      • Jerry's profit cut is already included in the floor cost they quoted. Jerry makes sure he gets his, even if the franchisee never sells the stock.

JB are no better. I've been to their store numerous times asking to price match, if its below or near cost they simply won't do it.

      • Yep. That big sign out front saying 'lowest prices' is BS.

        • Reminds me of the money changers that have "0% commissions" out the front of the window… all BS.

  • +1

Harvey Norman's price match policy is the worst in all big stores. First, the price match store has to be within 5km radius. Two, it has to be above their cost price. Brisbane Fortitude Valley refused to match a phone from JB claiming it is below their cost price.

    • There is a reason why they call it hardly normal.

Isn't Target a better deal? I know this is a good deal, but not sure why there 58+

    • Not on the website yet for target though.

      • No, because Fifa is life :)

  • +1

OP- Why didn't you reply and inform them it was in stock instead of just stating you'd put it on OzB?

    • I did, I just didn't want the whole page will the whole conversation.

  • price match …… office works last time wouldn't do it as they said the other store had a different restock policy in that with office works i could return it for a longer period after i bought it so they wouldn't price match as it's not just the items but terms and conditions of the purchase.

Another time it was same item ( sandisk memory card) but different part number due to batches …. so also wouldn't price match. they gave me a list of stores that they did price match with, so used MSY which was one and they price matched MSY. guess things like stores with grey imports are a nuisance for price matches.
