Non-Dodgy PC Controllers Reasonable Price?

Hi,

I'm looking for a controller to hook up to PC just because it's getting too frustrating to play a particular racing game via keyboard. I looked through EB games website and saw this one:

https://ebgames.com.au/pc-204496-At-Play-Xbox-360-Shaped-PC-…

It's definitely within my budget (was looking to spend no more than $25 on a controller), except I'm not 100% on it's quality. As long as it doesn't screw up on me I'm happy with how unauthentic it looks. It's designed to model the Xbox controller without actually being for the Xbox though so I'm fine with that.

Anyone know one that's higher quality for a similar price? I'm not too sure where to look.

Thanks so much

    About $32 Shipped for a genuine X360 controller…

Many under $30 if you don't need shipping

The Crew! I'm loving it so far for it's variety, pure racing games tend to stale out a bit quickly for me

FH3 is a lot of fun :) recommended

I use a wireless XBOX360 controller. I use it for Battlefield (planes), Fifa and racing games on the PC. Works a charm

    • How much is it? I'm assuming it's the genuine one that you get with the console so probably not as worth it on it's own?

PCCASEGEAR sell a genuine wired for $29. I've been using mine for 6 years and its still working great. Defs worth an extra $4

  • You can't go wrong with a Xbox 360 controller…. it has the most OFFICIAL support (DirectInput) from game titles out there.

The PS4 (DS4) controller is also pretty good as it can work plugged in/Bluetooth wireless, and the touchpad works as a mouse.
But it requires some light reading and installing working drivers.
I'm not sure if all the Xbox One controller issues have been rectified, I would research it before considering it.

  • I myself use an xbox 360 controller. Perfectly happy with it. No dramas, built a lot more sturdily than cheap dodgy ones and it just works when you plug it in!

On a related note, I have no experience with this, but I read somewhere that the dualshock 4 is now supported in Steam? From the sounds of it, it might even be native support. So if that works well, that should be good too.

Dualshock is supported by Steam, I use xbox 3 controller my son uses a PS3 controller, not sure about PS4 controllers.

  • I use the Logitech F710. Also have a Logitech F310 wired one for two player stuff

  • Xbox 360 controller all the way. Wired is always cheaper, buying "cheap" controllers always works out more expensive.
