Lost a lot of muscle mass from not eating much lately so I'm looking at working out what are some gyms that offer free or cheap trials on the southside of Brisbane?
Prefer a month or two week long trial.

A lot of parks in Brisbane have free gym equipment
Not sure where you are but as I was walking past Lorna Jane today I was given a card for good life free 5 day membership. Just go online to good life.com.au/activenationday . There is no activation code or anything so should be open to all. In my experience, once you take up a free trial, you will be hounded forever by the gym.

Free or low cost activities - core training, boxing, zumba, aqua classes, rock climbing etc etc. Although the only inconvenience is transportation to where the activities are held.
Leading up to xmas/new years they go on a break though.
Surprisingly not that many people know about these on offer by council.
