This year has been a good one for American Express cardholders taking advantage of their cashback offers.
I've been tracking how much I have 'earned' over the past year and my count is $1025.
How much did you get back?

Maybe you should ask how much did you lose to reflect the fact that you lost money rather than earn as that is a word usually applied to gains rather than losses.
spent a fortune on vpay fees 😉
I spent the money / mostly dined on the things which I never wanted in first place..
Is it JV, who earned the $10000 above?

Better question would be, how much more unnecessary spending did you make to earn $10000 back…
Only got my card in August, probably 'earned' around $750 so far. Definitely buying things I wouldn't have otherwise bought, but have no regrets about it.
Edit
Definitely have been spending more than I would normally. But some deals are just too good to pass up.
Some from recent memory:
The Woolworths Amex deal + Cashrewards + Woolworths 5% discount code.
House Click Frenzy 40% off code + Cashrewards + Amex Online retailer Spend $60 get $30 back deal.
I did have some misses with the Shop small deal, where I ate at the restaurant, then later found out the retaurant doesn't accept Amex.
IN the $100-$500 range, but I'm new to AMEX deals. Plan to get a few more cards in 2017 and hit that $10,000 GOD MODE tier.
I don't track it, but I guess it would be in the $250-$500 range. $200 just from HN $100 off $300 purchases with 2 AmEx cards. Used shop small probably 10 times? So another $100. Woolworths offers $20 twice = $40. End of year offer $50. $10 mobile wallets offer. Forgot the other ones.
Used the Hilton, Marriott and Accor hotel cashbacks on 2 cards $800), Body Shop, Westfield gift cards, $80 shop small, $30 online at House and a few others. Over $1000 I'd say.
