I need some advice. I bought a bunch of computer parts from various stores a month ago and after weeks of testing I've come to the conclusion that the motherboard is faulty. I ordered parts from the Futu and Shopping Express Clearance eBay stores - the Futu order included the motherboard and arrived in the first week, but the items from the SEC order arrived two weeks after I made the order. I was therefore not able to test the parts until 2 weeks after making the purchase, which is longer than Futu's 7 day DOA policy.
The problem I was having was that the computer would keep BSODing before booting into Windows. I thought it might be the OS, so I tested it with a bootable Ubuntu USB and the issue persisted. I updated the motherboard firmware, tested the RAM in each slot as well as individually, and tested it with a different PSU, all to no avail.
I then thought it could be the CPU so I requested a replacement from Amazon which took a week to arrive. It wasn't. So that pretty much just leaves the motherboard.
Anyway, it's been nearly a month since I made the purchase and has been incredibly stressful. Ideally I would like a replacement ASAP, but it's been weeks past the DOA window and I really don't want to wait another month for the warranty process with Asus. What are my options?
Thanks for reading.
Edit:
So I decided to go out and buy a replacement motherboard while I wait for a refund from Futu/SE. Turns out it was the motherboard causing the problem. What a relief.
Return the items for refund.
