Good deal but no HDR no play.

  • beaten with info

  • Made in China?

    • +1

Duh, the only place that make everything anything…

  • +1

Most probably no HDR and no HDCP 2.2 support. Which means it won't be able to take 4K input.

Earlier 4K TV models are pretty useless TBH.

JVC is not what you think JVC is anymore, they went bankrupt a while ago now owned by a large Chinese company no different than Aldi or soniq tv

    • +2

But I never highly regarded JVC anyways

You are spot on. This article lists who now owns once famous brand names. I'm not too sure if the Taiwanese manufacturer AmTRAN who owns the JVC name for the U.S also owns the rights to the JVC name in Australia
      http://www.consumerreports.org/lcd-led-oled-tvs/tv-brands-ar…

AmTRAN also sells TVs under the Vizio name. I suggest Googling Vizio and reading reviews on Vizio TVs.

      • Thanks for that link. Basically everything is crap made in the third world sweatshops

          Including iPhone?

        • +1

          @ms:
          Especially iPhone?

      • Its Yale Prima in Australia.

When I worked for Dick Smith during the receivership they would refuse to give customers remedies under warranty because the JVC/Yale Prima account hadn't been paid by Dick Smith at the time of entering administration.

Pretty scummy imo. Wasn't the customer's fault.

        • sounds illegal

    • thats why its only $799.

I bought a cheap JVC TV last year and within 3 months it blew up. Contacted Yale prima (distributor of JVC in Australia) who tried to wipe there hands of any responsibility. Buyer beware..

    • Hope you smashed it with a hammer for Youtube then?
