Free Energy Australia $25 Credit When You Call up, Mention "Sunscrean", and Sign up for Any Account Tool

242

Literally as easy as it sounds. I called up on Friday and got both my properties a $25 credit on the electricity bill. I already had My Account so the lady on the phone just credited the amount to my next bill. Despite the below disclaimer, my colleague who hadn't received an invitation personally was also able to apply the credit. Best of luck!

  • Thanks for sharing

Lucky to have multiple properties in Sydney

Love free credit but it's painful enough getting your utility provider to answer the phone without a promo to back the lines up.

Be sure to pronounce it properly or you won't get the special deal!

      'Sunscrean' versus 'Sunscreen'

  • I didn't receive an invitation :(

  • EA have some of the worst rates, anyone living in Vic better off sign up for momentum online and get $50 credit for both gas and electricity, their rates are decent too.

Energy Australia are one of the most expensive and worst energy providers. This discount is hardly a deal because you'd loose money always,

Check the VIC government energy costs calculator. You'll always loose money with EA. SORRY op, bad deal.

Better deal is to sign up for powershop and get a 75$ referral credit for you and the friend.

I compare my current origin and ee, they're cheaper on peak charge and supply charge. I switch with them last week, they give me 34% discount and $100 credit on first bill (compare to current origin 30% and want to change it to 24% on jan)

      • Compare here with 6 months worth of usage data and you might be surprised

        cheers,

        • I don't understand the neg. This is a deal for people who are already on energy Australia. If it's worthwhile switching then surely it's better to have a credit applied to your account before you switch thereby reducing your last bill. You can still get your powershop referral or any other welcome offers.

        • @neilpatrickharris:

It's a lower of a deal to be with energy Aus even with the 25$. Hence the neg

        • @dealman:
Pretty poor argument. You'd literally rather refuse free cash towards your bill than accept this if you were with them? As mentioned, this is for existing customers so it's irrelevant what their rates are.

        • @neilpatrickharris:

          Each to his own,
Don't take to too personally, It's for the deal, Appreciate your passion for the deal and the community, keep it up.

    • from the Green Electricity Guide:

the second biggest carbon polluter in Australia – thanks to its coal plants in Victoria and NSW – and has the highest emissions intensity (carbon pollution per unit of energy generated) of the big three retailers. It was a major financial beneficiary of the end of the former federal government’s carbon price in 2014 and argued for the Renewable Energy Target to be reduced.

Not enough incentive to save $25, even if it is a genuine saving.

If you sign up for my account will you stop receiving paper bills? Also I haven't received the email although I have been with EA for over two years, should I sign up online and hope it's applied or ring them up?

  • OP thank you very much for this deal!

Extremely easy as I already had direct debit set up, called up Energy Australia, verified my account and within minutes had $25 credit applied to the next bill.

Note - I did not receive a targeted email or invitation from Energy Australia for this deal but went with OP's instructions and got it successfully

  • Good afternoon Juzz0,

I hope you have had a lovely weekend.
Just some information to answer your questions. I can confirm if you sign up to My Account you will not stop receiving paper bills however we also do have our email billing service available so if you decide you do not want to receive a paper copy you can certainly receive them via email instead.

You can certainly call our customer service team on 133 466 and we definitely may be able provide you with this offer.

    Kind regards,
    Christina
