QA Officer, looking to expanded my career options

Hey guys, as the subject says I'm current working as a QA officer at a large UHT manufacturer. Here are some more details below;

• 27 years old.
• $65,000 salary.
• Over 7 years as a Laboratory Technician experience (2 of those years as senior lab tech with NATA signatory).
• Have a Diploma of Laboratory Science, along with certs IV and III. Also, a 1st aided and OHS HSR.
• Interested in more the QA side of things but do enjoy testing/QC side of things.
• Currently engaged with a 18month son. Renting. ~20k debt.
• 2hr drive from Melbourne.
• My goal would be a manager long term or a co-ordinator / Senior role

I'm currently considering perhaps doing a Bachelor of Science by correspondence at RMIT in Melbourne, takes 6 years’ part time. I think this will broaden my career choice as well as help improve my wage overall. I'm just a bit funny about the costs of it all. I'm 90% sure my work will help pay for books and allow time off, but the ~$24k course debt will got on Hex. And I'll be ~34 when I finish and then I'll probably have the hex debt until I'm 38. Which sounds crazy a little. Is it worth maybe doing a Dip of Management as well?
Just want to know if I'm on the right track or get some input regarding it all.

Cheers!!

    Congratulations on having a good career, a family and aspirations. I don't have any life advice, but perhaps clarify what QA stands for in the question.

  • Quality Assurance :D

    We deal with audits both internal and external, customer complaints, sterility issues, maintain legal compliances, work with our internal logistics and production planning teams to ensure customer specifications are met and a lot of micro testing.
