Braided Micro-USB Cable 1m $4.45 Delivered @ Vuelo

110

Hi all,

Was looking for some Micro USB Cables to take with me on my upcoming overseas trip. I needed something that will arrive sooner than the typical Alibaba ~ 1 month lol, plus I needed decent quality. I can't afford my cables to stop working on me while I'm overseas. I've already got enough on my mind as it is! I need to charge my headphones, smart watch, power bank and SG S7 Edge so needed to stock up!

Decent price delivered for proper braided cables. They're a good mob if you don't want to wait ages, and happy to pay for good quality. I've purchased this from them a while back and it arrived within a week and a bit IIRC.

I also just noticed there's USB C Cables too if anyone's interested, though, personally, they're of no use to me. http://vuelonomadicgoods.com/product/usb-c-usb-c-cable/

Happy bargain hunting!

They are great. Especially if you can wait a couple of months. Ordered 21.11 still no delivery

They're not Australia based. It might be quicker than the Ali "express" merchants but you'll still be better off buying from an Australian based ebay seller

First search result. $3.48 and delivered before the new year

They are Australia based. I received my cables from the last sale in two days.

I have bought several of these many months a go. All still working and none have frayed.

~$1.50 off AliExpress and they're terrible.

Negged as cheaper elsewhere and personal negative experience with the product.

Firstly it's hit and miss if it'll support quick charge (some devices it will, others it won't I found) and secondly the cable is absolutely terrible quality. The voltage drops from 5v to around 4.3-4.6v (depending on current) over the length of it. Some more critical devices may not even support these cables due to the low voltage.

Also note this doesn't even look like Australian stock?

    • How do you know it's the same product as this one?

      • Looks and price.

Oh and they use the same picture.
Edit: note the other pictures are different cables again… Though this simply shows they have no clue what they're even selling - they're just buying the cheapest OEM cables available at the time. They're around ~US$0.40-60 a piece in bulk from Alibaba. Quality won't differ between the different suppliers.

Even if we ignore that, unless you're using a $29 phone you got on a $9 deal at Coles, spend the extra damn $2 and buy yourself a decent cable. Personally would go with Anker, though others have had luck with Blitzwolf and Tronsmart too.

All that aside, the company has nothing on their site to indicate they have Australian stock and all I could find elsewhere was "#australian" in their Facebook description… I doubt this is Australian stock.

        • "All that aside, the company has nothing on their site to indicate they have Australian stock ……."

This statement from the deal link "We just got another stack of Cables landed in our Adelaide office." suggests they do have stock here unless they are not telling the truth.

I agree with you about not skimping on getting poor quality cables if it is for an expensive phone/tablet. I've ordered a couple of Ankers and an Aukey earlier in the week.

        • @jdr: Aw I missed that… Kinda didn't bother reading description after seeing the 21awg claim, lol. Still doubtful of the truth in it though, as mentioned in my above comment there's a lack of information about their Australian presence.

(Note 21awg is around the standard of the ~$15+ Anker cables - not something you're gonna see on a $2 cable. This claim is an outright lie and Vuelo would know it)

I seriously think I will be getting some hate for this but I think the ozbargain community has gone to shits. I understand that being a keyboard warrior and trying to type at 3am is quite a difficult task but lets get some fact-checking done out of the way.

VuelonomadicGoods is 110% Australian based, heck we even had a pop up shop recently in Adelaide, and previously to that we were at the Adelaide show.

Unlike other providers that buy ODM or OEM or OFF alibaba, I actually own shares in the factory that manufactures the cables and we also have a very successful semi-conductor/engineering arm that provides to the likes of Hitachi/Japan, Yamaha/Japan, Sagemcom/France, TPV/Taiwan, Celestica/Canada and Xiaomi/ China. Our factory is specialized in USB cables manufacturing for more than 10 years, with certificates of USB-IF association, ISO9001, ISO14001, UL and so on, in fact we were one of the TOP 5 earliest MFI approved factories that manufacture offical Mfi headphones.

I didn't start Vuelo in Australia, but I am fully back home in Adelaide running the business, which is now almost 2 years old, it was always suppose to be a bag company & power banks first and then cables. I still may not have got customer service fixed up to the point were we have flawless service, but we have awesome products and zero to 4-5% profit margins. I just wanted to point out that we have had 147 orders directly due to Ozbargain.

Now re: Blitzwolf / Tronsmat or any other OEM / ODM, No-one in the market(wholesale/retail) can make a micro usb cable with braided design for less then 40cents USD which is approx 60c AUD. and even by chance they did do that at that price, they all have a MOQ of atleast 5000. then you have the shipping costs / customs / marketing / packaging and storage overheads, overall to get a cable landed in Australia it will be at least $1-1.50. The reason we are selling at such a low rate, is that i believe we should have good quality products at prices that are affordable.

TL;TR we are in Adelaide. we ship everything from here, we will improve on customer service

Difference timezone currently. Thanks for your very personal comment here though! Appreciated.

You're not supporting your case here. In Australia such pop-up style stores are notorious for being a method of avoiding consumer law obligations - customers can't really come back the next day and return a crappy item… It's so much easier to simply throw it out and call it a $2-5 loss.

So you're telling me the pictures of the product available on your webpage aren't even pictures of the product you actually sell? The pictures displayed are exactly the same pictures from various AliExpress listings and a listing on AliBaba. Either you're stealing their images to advertise your own product, or you're retailing their product. Also 9001 is nothing to do with customer satisfaction - this relates to manufacturing. Your satisfaction is the concern - Vuelo is full of fake reviews and advertising cheap nasty cables as high-quality cables, using pictures of cheap nasty cables claiming they're different cables to the ones you will receive.

I didn't start Vuelo in Australia, but I am fully back home in Adelaide running the business, which is now almost 2 years old, it was always suppose to be a bag company & power banks first and then cables. I wouldn't doubt your profit margins are low, though you're implying these are quality cables when they are the exact same cables as available elsewhere. You're trying to claim they're some kind of high quality cable that you can magically make at $2. They're no different to the cables on AliExpress/elsewhere and are around US$0.40-0.60 wholesale, US$1.00-US$1.20 delivered from China for consumers.

Now re: Blitzwolf / Tronsmat or any other OEM / ODM, No-one in the market(wholesale/retail) can make a micro usb cable with braided design for less then 40cents USD which is approx 60c AUD.

The 40cent cables are similar to (and/or are) the cables in pictures displayed on Vuelo. Blitzwolf/Tronsmart are completely different cables with higher production costs. Also note 40cents refers more so to the wholesale cost - before tax, customs, shipping, etc. This relates more to the production cost, as I explained in more detail above when you mentioned profit margins.

tl;dr: yeah, you're not profiting much from this… But you're still selling crap that's US$1 elsewhere and claiming yours are magically high-quality.

        • Negative vote retracted as I can confirm these are at least Australian stock and slightly higher quality than the Chinese cables (estimated 24-26 awg opposed to 26-28+), not quite the 21awg advertised but I was never expecting this at $2 anyway.

Overall, not a bad $2 cable - but not as good as the $10+ Anker, Tronsmart or Blitzwolf cables despite advertising similar specifications.

  • Also iphone cables 1m - $2 (not including delivery)

LMAO! Sorry, to give you context, I'm going on my first ever overseas trip…that too solo…to a country who's native language I cannot speak. I'm not going part of a tour/group…completely solo.

….I've got a lot on my mind.

        Haha, good luck!

  • There's a heap of information about the features of this cable. But nothing about the length?!? How long is it?

      1metre.
