Hey OzBargainers!
I'm looking to purchase a "New" 3DS XL in Black. Do you guys know the cheapest place to buy it?
The cheapest I've found was COTD for $238.
Thanks!

Yeah, I got mine just shy of $200 from a target sale. It's worth waiting it out.
Same, got a 20% eBay sale off Target and got mine for around $180
They may or may not drop it when the Switch comes.
I doubt the switch will kill the 3DS as remember that the 3DS is a portable console you can fit in your pocket (kind of) and it has 2 screens so it works nice with some game.
The Switch screen size is much bigger and only has 1 screen so thats a different target.
Both of them can work together.
It already is killing the 3DS and Wii U (other than Zelda). All development effort is going to Zelda and Switch and has been for months. Nintendo does not have huge internal dev teams to have so many parallel developments. You can tell that development has been lightweight for 2 years now.
Do remember that Mario 64 was programmed by anyone and everyone around the Nintendo office, including secretaries learning to code :) They've grown and added a Tokyo site, too, but they still aren't massive.
The non-XL is on runout in Australia too, it seems. Amiibo are done. With no new software I think it'll be over for 3DS by mid next year and Wii U by late next year. I think it will be unsold store stock only after that.
3DS Is still alive and kicking, it is currently the 2nd best selling console Worldwide after PS4
@TRENT86:
Which upcoming games are you most looking forward to?
I don't think in the history of Nintendo that they've actively supported a platform once they've released a Mario Kart or Mario on the next equivalent. I really don't think it's controversial to say there 'might' be discounting or an RRP drop next year after Switch is launched. Nintendo USA is dumping it's refurbished stock onto ebay right now.
I'm a fan of them and bought a silly number of original 3DS when the Euro was weak and Amazon Italy had them at about $120 and a lot of New and New XL during Target sales. 5 original, 2 XL, 6 New, 5 New XL, 1 USA New XL. I'd love for the 3DS to be growing strong and still want an Orange New XL and White Japanese New XL. I don't think it is, TBH.
@Frugal Rock: I think also they will drop the RRP of the 3DS Next year some time, around $189 would be nice. I don't own a 3DS But I understand these are coming soon
Poochy & Yoshi's woolly world
Pikmin
Ever Oasis
Dragonball Fusions
Dragonquest VIII
Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse
Mario Sports Superstars
@TRENT86:
I do admit that third party RPGs tend to get released even after the platform use-by date. I also admit Dragon Quest is a big deal in Japan and enough to keep shelf space longer than in the West. I am mainly thinking about how Target started selling the original XL at $180 with Animal Crossing to sell stock after the New and New XL were launched. That offer went a few months. I am also thinking a bit about the DSi end. Big W just decided to dump all DSi at about $100 and they disappeared.
@Frugal Rock: I hope they continue to support the 3DS & Honestly it would be great it they were working on a new 3DS Maybe with better battery, better resolution and performance but add something new to it as well. At least Nintendo know it can still sell big numbers with the console selling over 300,000 in 1 week recently and pokemon moon/Sun being selling so big for Nintendo.
@TRENT86:
There is some good news for the 3DS this week…Mario Run isn't going great and the Nintendo share price is being hit hard as a result. They estimate it has earned $5 mill to $11 mill, but the exclusivity loss is worth far more than that.
Free Amiibo, a choice of the cool new colours and the convenience of going in to your local store to buy and easy warranty claiming at EB for $248. I'd grab that if you need it now.

I bought my husband the 3DS XL bundle for $239 from Target. It included a choice of Puzzle Dragons or Fossil Fighters as a game. Also note: doesn't come with an AC adapter.
Or USB charger
Seems every store I went to had different coloured ones but I settled on this deal from JB yesterday https://www.jbhifi.com.au/features/games/bundles/3ds-hot-off…
Got the starter pack for $25 too - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/games-consoles/platforms/accessory…
Target has a similar price, but has semi-regular 10% off ebay sales. If you can wait, $215 is about par price for maybe waiting until February (last chance was November). If you feel the true Ozbargain spirit, maybe there will be a 20% off sale or two next year.
Nintendo Switch will be coming out next year, which may drop the RRP or inspire stock sales. If you need it now/before Christmas, that ~$239 is the going price.
