Yeppers, and the good thing about stacking the above deal with this AMEX one is that this AMEX one states "… in one or more transactions". So you can make three transactions of $60 on your registered AMEX using the above code, and get $10 off each one, plus $30 0f the total… So you spend $180, but you get $60 back.

        • or spend 4 x $50 = $200 worth of wine with $70 discount

        • I think the offer only allows for one redemption

        • @bargin424:

'I think the offer only allows for one redemption'

The AMEX offer allows for only one redemption per card, but I reckon the above offer (the $10 off offer) can be used as often as you like. So I don't really see what your point is.

Damn you Amex…I'm gonna need a spare liver after buying all of these grogs :(
Hey Amex, I've got a great idea for you - can you do credit statement promo for getting a liver transplant?

Need to avoid Jandakot if trying for Amex?????

Purchase in store appeared as LiquorLand on Amex statement so will probably not count towards $150 total Amex spend. Probably OK for click and collect?

      • Cheers for that.
Log into amex and send them a dispute email.

  • Is the code only one use per ac?

    • One use per transaction.

  • Damn! They have fixed the problem in their website which let us use these codes on products where there was no further discounts.

I don't think so? I just did with their Pepperjack Shiraz

    • The NFD refers to buying 6 bottles and getting 5% off, the coupon code should still work

  • If someone has access to the employee discount card then you can get another 10% off( Normally 5%). The best part is the discount is applied before the voucher is. For example Dimple 15 yrs old is 35 after all discounts.

    • Don't bother trying to use someone elses card ,i did & my online order was cancelled because the details didn't match the employee number. So had to reorder again oh well.

      • I have ordered multiple times and it worked. Just use guest checkout and different email address

        • Gave it to someone else his order was cancelled as well but it was worth a try .

  • Is the AMEX offer still open to new signups?

  • Three of my four orders have been cancelled, due to invalid use of a promotional code. Please update OP, seems they will only allow one code use for one transaction.

    Dear xxxxx

Unfortunately due to invalid use of a promotional code, we have had to cancel and refund your order/s for the amount of $166.00. Please allow 2 working days for the funds to be returned to your credit card.

    Cancelled orders: xxxxxx, xxxxxx, xxxxxx.

    Available order: xxxxxx

If you have any further enquiries, please don't hesitate to contact us.

    • I just received the exact same email. Even the amount was the same…

I had received 3 text messages saying that my orders are ready to pickup prior to the email.

I wonder if AMEX will still honour the $30 ? (I did get the email) If so, then it would be an even better discount!

    • The ts and cs of the coupon are single use.

      • I can dig it.. but it's a bit of a web design fail when the code continues to be accepted for the same logged-in customer! Now both parties are scrambling to deal with cancelled orders, and to be honest I'm just going to stock up somewhere more convenient.

        • +1

To be honest all these posts with the code that keep popping up every other day need to state the ts and cs of the code… Same as other deals on whether or not going against these will result in cancelled orders. As I've said previously, getting 2,3, 4, 5 orders from the same customer for the same products all using the coupon, of course it's going to get flagged.

        • @Soluble: Agreed. In the absence of people doing everything right though, a little bit of validation code on the website would prevent the issue. Just my 2c :)

        • @gruso: I agree, and I'm just a foot soldier, but those that receive the coupon by the correct 'way' receive the terms and conditions with the code.

        • @Soluble:Maybe a silly question but what is the correct way ?

        • +1

@Triple J: The code comes from signing up to First Choices 'Top Drops' newsletter.

        • @Soluble: Thanks for reply.

        • @Soluble: Is it the stores who police this? 4 same customer, same coupon, same store, same DAY? Change one or two of these?

        • @cryptos:
It seems one of the comments above, the person received sms's saying all were ready that in this case the store packed them and someone up top cancelled them afterwards. Possibly the code is changed once it's abused I honestly don't know. A couple probably get through quite easily, but clear abuse would be stopped by either the store or above. We get the orders, we pack them. Multiple orders from the same person becomes an easy flag. Remembering stores are also dealing with everything from simple multiple coupon purchases to CC fraud.

        • @Soluble:

So does this mean even though I recieved the code through the legitimate channels, it will no longer be honoured?

        • +1

@apric101: Looks like the code was stopped, 2262 clicks(and probably multiple orders) may have had something to do with it ;) If you received the code and it's no longer valid I would contact them. Look below as an example 'Chateau' using the code for 4 orders.

        • +1

@Soluble: Nothing unscrupulous about using the code multiple times. If it works then why not? I spent $168 so it's not like I got my orders for free. If companies can't be bothered ensuring their special code offers are error free they should be compelled to honour all orders.

        • @Chateau: limited to 200 uses. they saw unusual activity and shut down the offer. it wasn't hard to use a free email addy to avoid this.

        • @Soluble:

What's their response time usually like? I sent a forwarded copy of the top drops email to the contact enquiring about the code not working, but haven't received anything back yet…

      • +3

        So now I have to create 4 accounts…. Ok…

  • code no longer working?

    • Says it's invalid for me

      • Same. Not even logged in yet

        • Same here.

          "Promotion Code 5EUF33DQ is invalid."

  • Picked up 4x cases of Lashes @12pm (4 individual orders placed 11:30pm last night). Got 4x sms's @ 11am today stating they are ready for pick up. When I got there the guy at the store said, "You're lucky, we just received an email saying the discount code was an internet error."

  • Looks like I got in in time… Just picked up my purchase, no dramas. I only placed one order though, used Amex and the code.

  • nvm

  • Called my local 1st choice - very irritating guy answered.
Said that the voucher was "stolen from a Coles hack" - whatever that might mean, and all orders using this voucher would be cancelled.
If you haven't collected yet, I doubt you will

  • got to my local store and only able to collect one out of the four orders… waiting for my refund confirmation for the other three orders

  • +1

it looks like they've taken down their top drops offer from their website. i don't get why people were posting these codes when all you needed was a free email addy to get your own. this got ozbargained and shut down.

    • Do you have a link to sign up to their newsletter?

    • Because they send the same code to everyone in the email sign up, they're not unique. eg I used a promo code on ozbargain, after signing up i recieved an email giving me $10 off and it was the same code i used on OZB!

      • they're not all the same. the codes are limited to a certain number. it's either random or new ones are generated after that number of sign ups.

        • Well my point is that I could have got the sign up code in an email and then had 1st Choice cancel an order because it was the same code emailed to others and used multiple times. It's a bad system, every Credit card/Debit card that signs up should get a unique 1 time code.

  • +4

I just turned up at my local store to pick up my 3 orders and was told that head office had called the store to cancel my order.
NO email or call to myself regarding this prior.

I called the "Help Line" from the store and was told it was because I had somehow manged to used the code more than once!
The somehow was simply placing 3 orders on their website.

So, not only do I lose the $10 discount on $50, I'll also lose the Amex $30 cashback on the over $150 spend.
The code was emailed directly to me by 1st Choice!

On return home from the store I had an email regarding the cancellation saying:
"Unfortunately as you have exceeded the use of a promotional code"

I wasn't even allowed to keep one of the orders.

    Not happy at all.

  • FYI, here are the Terms and condition contained in the email that I received the Prom code with.
i.e. the "Welcome to Top Drops xxxxxxxxx! Here's your first voucher to get you started!" email.
I see no restrictions on multiple purchases.
I am of the opinion (non professional) that they have broken consumer law.

For all thos with cancelled orders all these deals really need to state the original terms and conditions from the coupon code. I understand that FC probably shouldn't have a generic coupon code, but people need to understand that entering a code found on ozbargain does not void you from these terms and conditions.

    • -2

Negs from a bunch of people using a coupon code they have no idea about. Entitled much? Again post the ts and cs in the deal and this doesn't happen.

      • Arrogant attitude much?! That's the poor PR i have been noticing creeping into some Australian businesses. For the sake of good PR, especially in this day and age of social medial, bad PR can spread faster than your PR department can fix the problem. Take a leaf out of T.M. Lewins PR book. There was a botched coupon which they still honored. None of this T & C's crap. At least they still follow the idea that the "Customer is always right". That was brilliant PR. First Choice is coming across like Scrooge at Christmas time.

  • Hi Soluble,
I copied the T&C's shown above from the email I received directly from 1st Choice with the code.
I did not use the Code via OzBargain, I am posting here to advise of my experience after looking on OzBargain to see if it had been reported prior.

    I purchased online.
I did not print out the voucher that has the different T&C's.

I would show a screen shot of the email T&C's (as above) but can't immediately see how to do so. But it would just show the text in the email above which does not mention single purchase!

    Cheers

  • Even if I used the code to place multiple orders, shouldn't the first order still be honoured? Poor customer service from First Liquor, and honestly very bad website design. No wonder they have such a low score on product review.

    • If you signed up to top drops and purchased using that email address I don't see why not.

  • What a bunch of stingebags. In my case it was only $10 off a $52 case of beer.
Not like they were being forced to give it away & bankrupt the company.
Very poor execution of a discount by a crappy company that should know better.

  • +2

I wonder if it's standard practice also at Dan murphy's to make the customer look and feel the fool at the click and collect counter. I know my Dan's wouldn't lol. Major fail by last choice here…

    Sorry to hear cranny!

  • +1

BWS still has $5 off $40 spend.

  • +2

Well this turned into a joke. Went to pick up my 1 slab of beer, chick took my name and then typed it into the computer then went to look for my order. Came back ages later with no beer saying she couldn't find it. Grabbed a manager, looked at the computer, saw there was some thing to call head office, spent about 10 minutes on hold and then he was told I can't have my slab of beer and my money would be refunded in up to a weeks time. I then said thanks and walked out. Probably all up waiting there at the front counter for about 25 minutes.

I never received any email or text to say it had been cancelled or anything and at the store they didn't know anything about it. Pretty annoying to go all the way there to be stuffed around for 1 slab of beer I wouldn't have bought without the code. Oh well it wasy first time buying from first choice. It is the last. All over $10.

  • I spoke to their live chat and they admitted to their being a 'massive breach and recall of discount codes being the reason for it not working on the site. They then went on to say that they would still honour the discount code if I call the customer service number 1300 308 833 and order on the phone. I imagine they will be asking for the email you used though, so only try it if you genuinely did sign up to the offer prior to it being ozbargained.

    • They really should just generate a unique 1 time only code for each email they send upon sign up that is confirmed with a credit card/debit card, like amazon.

  • I suggest every give them a negative review on FB. They need to be punished for the bad PR. Hopefully someone from Dan Murphys picks up on this. Would be awesome if they gave us a $10 discount

  • First Choice have responded to my FB post and review. They asked me to private message them. Looks like their PR department is in damage control. Best you all comment on their FB page too. Crap accidentally ticked the associated box. I'm not associated with them!

  • Got my order today. Good PR save. Anyone else receive their orders?

  • I've just got off the phone to their support number, all 3 orders cancelled without notification. The note on all 3 orders their end states that the customer must email details of the coupon they received as proof.

Might try the FB path if not…
