Price needs to be in the title.

  • +2

Can you also include how much this is discounted from their normal selling price. It's great when titles are as informative as possible

  • Still way too expensive, but I guess that's normal for Bugaboos.

  • Still a rip.

im having a kid soon… 10 years worth of savings from ozbargain gone with 1 pram purchase….

    • +13

I think those 10 years of savings disappeared in a brief few seconds about 9 months ago :)

        ….for 30 seconds of pleasure :P

yeh i missed out on those condom deals… took my chances and lost…

    • +1

Buy a good one secondhand. Recently sold immaculate Stokke Xplory and Buggaboo Bee for next to nothing….

  • +1

    For context, I got a 2016 model the other day… was $1369

    • +1

Where from - was that just the base? My understanding is the only difference with the newer model is the faux-leather handles.

      • +2

        From Baby Bunting.

Yep - just the faux leather handles.
So yes… rip off…. but hey, I'm not arguing with my heavily pregnant and cranky as hell wife :P

  • +1

For the price I would expect it self-propelled.

  • i recall Target having prams of similar style, they were branded as i<something>. would be beneficial for people who bought that to share their views. the price difference is huge.

    • I can hear apple lawyers coming…

This pram is a bit overrated, we bought a Baby Jogger City Select managed to get it for 763 after price beat at Toys r us, went for even cheaper recently at 719 after price beat at Toys R us.

    • +1

Same the Baby Jogger is much better we are so happy with it, The Citi Mini helped us a lot when travelling with the quick folding flap.

  • +3

Had the 2nd generation of this pram for a while now.
This pram is good for flat hard surfaces. It struggle on bumps and holes on the street due to small wheel at the front.
Baby jogger is much better option if you want all terrain.

    • good point. should avoid small wheels.

      • Got a Bob 3 wheel pram years ago (wee bloke is almost 13 now, aaargh!) and managed to get it up to the base of one of the glaciers in NZ. It was tougher than a lot of the tourists trying to get there.

    • Just sold our Bugaboo. Size of front wheels on uneven surfaces such as footpaths was atrocious. I know you can flip it around so the large wheels are at the front, but seriously, who wants to be doing that all day. I still have a City Mini GT and takes on anything.

  • My black Bugaboo fade like hell, my friend's red one is the same, color almost gone. also steering wheels make lots of noise, WD40 wont fix it.

Those expensive stroller just not that good, my stokke has lots of plastic parts with very bad coating, very easy to get scratch. but the color won't fade, it has no suspension.

    • +1

also steering wheels make lots of noise, WD40 wont fix it.

Of course it won't, WD40 is not a lubricant. Use the right product for the right application and it'll work.

      • Yup. Apply some grease to fix the squeaking issue, not WD40

  • $1199 what else can it do other than carrying a baby?

    • +1

Groceries.. like how I use my pram 90% of the time.

      • Proper grocery carts are about $600, half the price of this pram. And they come with a baby seat, but not as comfortable.

  • for $1199, what is the engine displacement?

  • +1

I haven't got a clue on this stuff so this could very well be a normal price for a pram, but bloody hell… Surely there are alternatives out there

  • Can anyone suggest why this is much more expensive than other alternatives sold in China?

    E.g. For less than $100

    What are the major benefit?

    • Just brand, I think the Chinese one may better since the bugaboo is not that good.

    • Lol. Good question.

One spells BUGABOO, the other one spells BELLOCO.
Once my little sister in law found a handbag in OP shop and kept telling my wife that she found a bargain. I have a look - it spells CHANNEL not CHANEL.

    • For real, the BUGABOO was the first pram that came up as a versatile pram with many accessories, so good that was loved by the Hollywood Sfars.
The body was made by special alloy that it was light. The pram can be transformed so you can pull the pram over the sand in the beach. Only seen one mum did it once on the beach and she did not look enjoyed at all.

    • Australian Government offered $3000 baby bonus and helped many mums became Hollywood parent.
Husbands said WTF and got told off that it wasn't their money. $3000 - at least can get a decent Camera Lens that can take lots of nice photos for babies.
There are so many good prams nowadays that can simply buckle the bassinet straight into the car without waking baby up. If money is no object, look at this for the Versace pram or the 40k pounds pram.

  • i love a bunch of guys talking about prams :P
i too was the same till 1) we found out we were having a kid and 2) till i road tested half a dozen of them at a recent baby expo.

we paid under $1100 for the 2016 model and yes there were a couple that were a little cheaper that we also liked, but the bugaboo stood out by far.

for the sake of $150-200 saving over a period of 4-5yrs it was a non-issue.

also remember 99% of you, the wife will be on maternity leave with the bub while we're at work, so if she ain't happy you might need to buy a second pram :P go with what she likes (regardless of bugaboo or other)

    • Mind sharing how you got the 2016 version for under $1100? Cheapest I can get is $1250.

      • it was a special baby bunting ran during the sydney baby expo.
Its currently on layby, still sitting there at the store, plan to pick up next week sometime.

EDIT: sorry it might have been $1160 I paid, need to check paperwork at home tonight

  • at the end of day, what matters most is the weight of the pram (practicality) and (remotely second) the color and material of the cloth (aesthetics). someone may argue the pram should have a large space for baby stuff or for grocery shopping. yes, but this is remotely third important. We have a silver cross, but if i need to buy a second pram, i may go for redsbaby (for the price they are the best!) or valco baby tailor made (still much cheaper than what we got and tailor made looks nice). fortunately we didnt buy a stokke, even though it looks good. never a fan of Bugaboo, hate their handles.

    • I would also highly rate ease of folding/unfolding as a feature..
the combi prams are great as they fold/unfold with one hand. They are also quite light

  • Quite funny how all commentators have not upvoted this.

  • too expensive for many now without the baby bonus. save the money on huggies. better comfort on the little bottoms than on mums' face.

truth is not always the most pleasant to hear.

  • Actually price came down a lot than when it first came to Australia. Bought ours about $2000+ when Gladiator was pushing his in Woman''s Day.

I paid 100 dollars for my pram from target and its been fantastic. at 1 years old we downgraded to the 19 dollar pram from Big W and my boy loves it

Im not poor, i have 4 houses, but spending over 1k on a pram is the dumbest thing i have ever heard in my life!!

    • +1

Im not poor, i have 4 houses,
