  • The only way this is a deal is if you don't do physical games

    • what .. for ever?

    • if you want to pay more than a physical copy that's your business, but I have to ask, what are you doing here? 🤔

I really hope microsoft try to match these deals on 12 days of deals, these have been a lot better than the black friday sales in terms of discount.

Honestly, I prefer a physical game, at least there's still a resale value. But thanks for the post.

Titanfall 2 is probably the most fun I've had in an MP shooter since Quake 3, I had a shitload of fun with Call of Duty in the day but not like this.

The game is (profanity) fantastic, and I usually don't get sucked into MP over SP too much, but I just can't even get myself to go back in and finish the campaign, the MP is just so god damned fun.

I paid 36 bucks for a copy when Target had them on sale, they're still 39 now, as lots of people have mentioned, however, there's one thing you're forgetting

DIGITAL PSN COPIES ALLOW YOU TO INSTALL IT ONTO TWO MACHINES. MEANING TWO COPIES. MEANING YOU AND YOUR FRIEND CAN HAVE IT (and probably go halvsies but that's up to you). And since MP is what a lot of you guys are here for, having a friend to play it with you right out the gate is probably not a bad thing.

    • yeah, thats a great benefit. so, you give your login details to your friend and the friend sets your account as primary ps4, then downloads it and plays it on his account, right?

Yup. I did the same thing for PS+ the last year. A mate had Plus for Battlefront, and that was literally the only thing she played, so she signed in on my machine as her primary one so I could avoid having to pay to play a game I already paid for online with the internet I already paid for.

    • That's funny, I hated the MP and have gone back to playing TF1. IMO all the movement feels 'slow' it only takes 2 shots from a higher ranked player to kill you, the titans and their weapons are weak. Your Titan drop is based on kills and not time and there were a few other things I forget now. Basically it is too far from the original ghame and no fun at all (imo). I may take another look, if they have Frontier Defence mode that would be a good way to level up without getting fragged by level 99 12 years olds every 2 seconds. Would have gone for a refund but my 7 days had expired. I did enjoy the SP campaign however.

I played 500+ hours of TF1, and I'm actually going faster in TF2. I think the movement combos are more fun in TF2 (wallrun + slide + grapple).

TTK could be a bit higher, I'll give you that one. Also, higher rank doesn't always mean higher skill.

the titans and their weapons are weak

Some Titans are weak against other Titans, but overall they're quite strong. Try going to the Titanfall subreddit and telling people that Tone is weak :P

I had the same initial opinion, but now I love the game.

        • "Also, higher rank doesn't always mean higher skill."

No it doesn't, but it does mean that they have access to higher powered weapons and higher ranked weapons.

        • @EightImmortals: True, but it doesn't take that long to unlock those weapons. Also, you can use in-game credits to unlock a certain weapons early.

I've spent a lot of time wondering if Titanfall 2 actually improves anything, or if it just added a grappling hook and I'm a sucker for a game that lets me be Spider-Man. Truth is, I've played more Titanfall 1 in the last week than TF 2, but that's because I was too lazy to plug the PS4 in mostly.

I love them both, but there's a few cool things about TF1 I wish were in TF2. The Titan classes are the first thing that springs to mind, I wish I could customize them as much as my pilot, I want the default gun and rocket pairing of the first titan in the first game in the second, but there's no way to put them together. Also taking away the second booster for Titans makes it feel a bit slower, though there may be a different core you need to select to get it in number 2 or something. The time to get Titans in number 1 is better too, at least for me, instead of killing people to get it, in number 1 it's gonna take you two minutes or so, in number 2 I cam eject from my Titan as it explodes, use the anti-Titan weapon mid air to take out the two Titans that took me on and I've got 30 seconds to wait all of a sudden. If I'm always in a Titan, it feels less significant, like when you play the old Battlefront and turn on permanent Jedi, it's just not as cool anymore.

But TF2 has a grapple hook, and that means I'm Spider-Man and or Batman with a machine gun, and I can live with that.

I'd bite if it was the same price as Uncharted 4
