a few other ciders and beers available.
$108 for 3 slabs of reasonable beer delivered. 72 stubbies = $1.50 each.

John Boston is owned by Wesfarmers from memory. Tastes like soapy water IMO.
As both Cellarmasters and Dan Murphy's are Woolworths owned, I would bet John Boston is also Woolworths owned - and not Wesfarmers.
No real difference though, still big brands pretending to be craft breweries.
Yup.
John Boston, Gage Roads and Sail&Anchor are all woolies mass market swill disguised as microbreweries. Steamrail is Wesfarmer's main fake craft beer.
The only independent brewery of scale left in Australia is Coopers. Everything else is either Mitsubishi (via Kirin, via Lion Nathan - Boags, Squire, Hahn, Little Creatures, ) or AB Inbev (read: Budweiser, via SAB, Via Fosters - Cascade, Carlton, VB/MB, Matilda Bay - Fat Yak, Redback, Beez Neez, The Ducks, Min Chips, etc).
After that, it's microbreweries.
tl, dr: 'Pint of Coopers Pale' is the best way to drink your local ;)
How about Broo and their Australia Draught beer?
No longer true about Gage roads (and was never completely true.. Gage Roads is ASX listed - GRB and WW just owned a blocking stake) There was a buyout of the Woolworths shares recently, and they do seem to have been producing some more decent beers, even in the 6 months before that went through.

Agreed, Bostons aren't great. Single Fins are worth it for $42 though… personal preference of course. Couldn't get free delivery working for beer, did C&C for BWS.
single fins are great! i like them better than beers such as mountain goat summer ale!
Told my dad, thought we could go halves and supply the xmas party. His response: Nah mate, your uncle and your cousins only drink carlton" ugh. Would have bought 1 slab for myself and others, but 2 single finns is a bit too much + carlton slab. Oh well.
Nice—grabbed 3 cartons for the xmas break cheers!
