    Isn't this the 'normal' price?

    • +1

Normally you get 3 pieces of hotcakes for $3.95 - $4.45 depending on how expensive your closest Maccas is.

    • Can you see it on the menu every single day?. No. So this isnt a normal price its a promotional price

      • Its normal price. Ads all over tv for them saying $1 each. I have a suspicion the choc chip hotcake itself is promo, not the price.

@landroverz7 Those come with syrup and butter too. Im pretty sure these are just the hotcake.

        • If you request syrup for these, they will charge you 80 cents for it, they dont come with butter either and I do not know if theres an extra charge for that.

      • +1

Lol, seen it on tv so it's normal price… k 🙄

        • Its never been another price, and like most Maccas promos they are on the TV. Its not rocket science. The question was if its normal price. Maybe now that you can read, you might try comprehension.

The price isnt special, the hotcake is the special thing. Like lime thickshakes and other limited run products.

        • +2

          @Tuba:

The price isnt special, the hotcake is the special thing.

lolwut? If the price isn't special, then how and why does it belong as a deal on OzBargain? If the hotcake is the only special limited run thing, then this is just advertising.

        • @Orpheus: exactly its just an ad for Mdconalds.

        • -1

@Orpheus: Can you at least try to follow the conversation?

I have not said it was or wasnt a bargain. The only thing in discussion, look to the first post in this string, is if its the normal price. People have confused it with the normal hotcakes, and discussed the notion of syrup and butter.

But this is not those hotcakes. Same batter I guess, but its not 3 of them, theres no syrup or butter, no foam packaging etc. It is the normal price even if only because it has only had one price. It does not need to exist at one price, then be reduced to qualify, maybe its a bargain from the start. This item was reported, not by me, and yet its still here. Moderators seem to think its a bargain under the rules. Again, I dont care if its a bargain, it was never my contention. I gave up on bargain or not a long time ago, as did the moderators.

The conversation was about normal price or not, with a reference to the normal 3 pack of hotcakes, with syrup and butter

      • It's the normal price for chic chip pancakes. The price hasn't been reduced.

        • +2

If these were 10c, would you still not consider that a bargain? Because 10c is the normal price?

        • +2

          @BTRaynes: but it isn't 10 cents.

        • -3

          So much autism.

His point is that not all bargains are a result of price reductions. Sometimes, the price is good from the start. No opinion if it is or isnt, simply expressing the point.

    • +7

      Normal prices can be bargains.

      • +1

        Not if there's no saving.

  • It's 1 piece for $1 right?

    • That is correct. One hotcake for $1.

  • +2

Is it 3 normal size ones, but with choc chips for $1? If so, these things will sell like hotcakes. The kitchen staff in busy stores will be struggling to microwave these non stop just to keep up with the orders.

    • -1

they leave them in the sun

    • No. It's one hotcake.

  • +2

Saw it today but didn't have one. Looks like a flat piece of reheated crap

    • +3

Its a tasty flat piece of reheated crap.

The butter and maple syrup is pretty decent and fits in with the rest of the quality of mcdonalds food.

      • +1

        quality haha

      • Random reply here :-) Didn't Macca stop using "real" Maple Syrup for pancakes some time back? That was a shame, as I really liked their Maple Syrup. When they stopped using the real stuff, the pancakes just did not taste as nice for me anymore (Better for my waste line that they did). I have tried to find a whipped butter in Aus for when I make my own pancakes at home, and have pancakes with Queens Canadian 100% maple Syrup (Health star rating of 1, healthy stuff), but have not had any luck getting whipped butter either.

Try a 3L of coles milk and some elbow grease.

        • Put butter in a bowl Nd use mixer??

      • Its not those hotcakes. It is probably the same batter, but its one, not 3, and has choc chips in it, there is no syrup or butter.

cyrax is right, looks like a flat piece of reheated crap.

  • I really like it though I'm a hot cakes fan ask for the whipped butter and it's almost the same as the normal hot cakes

  • +1

These look absolutely revolting, even in the ad.
    Microwaved junk

  • +1

Is the chocolate mixed in or put on top? Ie: Can I order 4 minus the chocolate?

Edit: No. Choc chips buried in a regular hotcake. Poo.

  • +4

    So these are just pikelets?

Geez I whipped up 30 of these for about $1 yesterday, fed 2 adults & 4 kids.
poh wait the butter & jam was about another 30c

    • Using what? Teach me your ways brides

This could be my main meal for the next coming months

      • Ingredients
1 cup (sifted) Self Raising flour
        2 Tbsp sugar
        ¾ cup milk
        1 egg

        The batter
mix flour & sugar (just use a fork)
        add egg & mix
slowly add the milk & mix.

In a medium hot frypan, pour in some of the batter.
Cook 30sec each side. (when you start seeing a few bubbles it's time to flip)
(I use a small kids frypan so I can get nice circles)

    • They are pancakes.
      Pikelets are little pancakes.
      Tasty little pancakes.

Will you shut up!? You do not understand promotional prices, hence GODDAMN PROMOTIONAL, you heard that? It's a promotion and it doesn't always appear on their menu, btw that HJ post was requested by me to be deleted. You will never learn that this is a promotion which means that it not always on their menu which means that even though it's a normal price, it's a deal that can't be purchased year round whenever you want to buy it. Where has your common sense gone? Jeez. For the record that HJ was a PROMOTION so it's not a normal price. Don't you have better things to do in your life than to shit on other people's deals which are (most of the time) good. Grow up

      • -4

lol lol lol. Whose deals am I shitting on? This website is to promote BARGAINS. Not promotional items from fast food giants at their NORMAL price.

        • If the NORMAL price was 10c, would you not consider that a bargain?

        • +1

@BTRaynes: im responding with the actual price, not the hypothetical your suggesting.

    • -1

This normal price stuff is rubbish. I don't even know what it means…
      If it's a good price, it's a good price isn't it??

      • Except this isnt a good price at all.

  • +1

I need this in my life.

  • -6

worst thing they have made ..my daughter was sick and wife gave hers to the dog

    • i respect your opinion unlike some people (MelbBargainChaser77)

    • +5

Probably shouldn't be giving the dog chocolate

    • +1

Poor dog with the chocolate chips in them……

    • Now both could be sick ..

  • +2

Why did you change the title back to Hotcakes instead of per piece? Misleading title. Hotcakes are always sold in a set of 3 at McDonalds. Therefore most people will easily assume it's 3 choc chips hotcakes for $1, but you actually just get one hotcake piece with no syrup.

  • People making to much fuzz about normal price. It does seem it is promotional price so could be a bargain. I have seen people post about Aldi specials and yet you dont make a big deal about it.

    • if it doesn't make it to the front page quickly, people like jv thrive on being a pest.. simples

    • The funny part is moderators already decided it was within the rules… it was reported yesterday and obviously they cleared the report because its still here.
