Is there anyway to get the Pixel XL cheaper like an amex card or something else?
$1400 is just too much for that phone. I'd be willing to pay 1k. I would also go with Telstra though $127/month for 5GB…
Any way of getting the Google Pixel cheaper?

I have same Q! But having looked at some of the new Chinese brand phones I'm rethinking, they have the same back finger sensor and some up with huge RAM memory (so fast), check out the YouTube speed tests. Have not finalised but researching this area…not sure how it will play out.
$1400 versus say $600-800 might still give it a shot.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a way =(
You'll probably need to wait until this ridiculous telstra-pixel exclusivity period is over which won't be until next year I'd imagine.
I had a mate get that 127 a month thing for 100 a month after they fed his service up a bunch, threatened to change his business stuff and personal.
That said 100 a month is more then id ever go…
The only way is don't buy now, and wait, till they realised they can't sell and reduce the price.
When human want to work together not buying stuffs with crazy price like pixel, thencorporation will learn some lessons… Until then, they will keep ripping people off.
Sure customers can wait. What we need is a phone, we don't need pixel. But corporation can't wait they have big expenses warehouse operations costs and need to sell. We need to be smarter.
Imagine if no one buy pixel. They have already produced millions units. They won't be able to hold on to that price for ling. Customers will win.easy.Why would you go with Telstra for $127/month? That's $3048 for 2 years. The XL 128 GB is $1419 which makes the 24 month plan $1629 ie. ~$68/month for 5GB of data and calls.
Thats why I said I wont. I would have switched over to telstra if their plan pricing was $100/month but no way in hell am i paying $127 for 5GB per month
No you didn't.
I would also go with Telstra though $127/month for 5GB…
Got a friend who works for Telstra? They can get 10% off the phone outright, or 25% off a plan.
The pricing really is absurd. Can't imagine they are selling many here. Pretty short-sighted from Google given this is their first real foray into branding their own phones.
Bought from JB once at $1390, using 10% off ultimate kids GC (bought with 5% off coles GC, pretty much 14.5% off) = 1188 – GST refund = $1080. But second time I went there they didn’t want to move from $1419.
Also some ebay sellers have the phone cheaper (but from HK), during black Friday ebay had 10% sitewide, that made the phone to be around $1000+ too. The same promo might come back again.Since Telstra started UNiDAYS sale, I looked up to see if that makes Google Pixel more affordable.
I'm looking at XL. It comes with 1GB Data + $550 talk time. Link:
https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/student-lounge/goog…The plan's value: a little bit less than twice Go Mobile Plus's smallest plan ($300 call + 500MB data), which sells $25/mo with UniDays discount, which makes it values roughly $30/mo×24 = $720.
So it means you get the phone at $2112-$720 = 1392 - and being locked in to Telstra for 24 months.
Where do you get your $1400 price from jabbairc?
Oh, forgot to mention the $150 cashreward.com.au for buying a new handset with +24mo contract.
