Office of state revenue - Bunch of Money-Hungry Dogs

They so are - got a fine for parking in 'No parking zone' - mrs had to drop kids off near the toilet as they had to go to the toilet and it was on the ground floor parking. instead we received a fine for just dropping kids by 'no parking zone'. funny how we saw all these luxury cars parked there and they didn't seem to get any tickets. we even paid at the ticket machine until saw the ticket on the windscreen. wrote a letter detailing what happened and still have to pay the fine. no leniency or lowering the price, due to circumstances. just a blatant 'pay by 28 days' . what a load of crap these money hungry' office of steal peoples revenues are!

  • So you think a pack of animals sent you a letter in the mail?

  • +5

so your car was stopped in a no parking zone?

  • +3

But you can park there for two minutes max, can't leave the vehicle etc etc, to pickup people or goods etc. If you got a fine for staying longer or breaking the road rules, well accept it and don't whinge about it.

Which part of your ramblings is in any way a mitigating circumstance?

you sound just like a fat lazy 'council worker' who does nothing short of ripping taxpayers money off. if not, perhaps a parking officer.

      • I had a read of some of your other pointless and inane posts. You're clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed.

  • +6

So did you "park" in a "no parking area" or not?

  • +6

So you got fined for the kids dropping the kids off at the pool?

  • +5

From what I can gather from your disjointed post is that you or the Mrs parked in a no parking zone and got a ticket. Not sure what your complaint is other that you got caught.

So you bought a carpark ticket while in a no parking zone?

Every time I see these sorts of posts, I get a little angry because they always portray one side of the story. People seem to think that parking in no standing zones and disobeying clearways is a victimless crime, but it really isn't. So I'll tell you the other side of the story.

On my drive home from work most days, I have to drive through a road which is a clearway from 4-6PM. Sometimes cars disobey the clearway and park there anyway, reducing a two lane road to a one lane road right in front a of a set of major traffic lights, causing lengthy delays. Every time I see a car stopping there illegally, I specifically try to see if they've been fined, hoping that they have.

This might seem petty to some, but when a car is parked there illegally, forcing everybody to merge, it will legitimately take me 10 minutes longer to get past that intersection than it normally would. Sure, that's not a long time, but when you multiply that out to the number of people who it's inconvenienced, it adds up to a lot of wasted time, resources, pollution, inconvenience and annoyance.

What strikes me is how stupid people are on the road - people stop in dumb places, ignore road rules, are selfish, don't consider other road users and somehow think that fines and other disciplinary measures don't apply to them. I completely agree that there are certain road rules, keep clears, no standing zones…etc. which are meaningless, but for the most part, it doesn't take much thinking to see why they exist. I'm like everyone else, I've received fines, I've done the wrong thing, but I cop it on the chin and don't do it again - I haven't been fined since.

Wait for the "you're all a bunch of sheep" follow up comment from the OP.

      • -3

you're all a bunch of sheep without a shepherd!

        • Haha. Go get a life.

    • no standing zones

We haven't seen one of these in nsw for years. Were they not all replaced with no stopping signs years ago because a lot of motorists didn't understand their meaning?

  • YOu probably should have parked in a designated spot, rather than the no parking zone.

  • +3

Who pays for parking while stopping in a no parking spot.. jeepers

  • This post is a mess.

funny how we saw all these luxury cars parked there and they didn't seem to get any tickets.

Wouldn't that make them not money hungry dogs? Rather discrimination against non lux cars, or maybe discrimination against people with bladder emergencies?

    • +4

twist: the luxury cars were all parked legally in designated spots

    HAVE A CRY

  • …Checks OP user name… Seems appropriate.

  • For the ignorant, OSR does not issue fines, they collect on behalf of Councils and other businesses. Go have a cry to them to penalising you for doing the wrong thing.

  • we even paid at the ticket machine until saw the ticket on the windscreen.

This reads like your partner left the vehicle parked and unattended beyond the no parking time limit. Could you please confirm this?
