Buying from amazon overseas cheapest payment method.

Im looking to get an item from amazon its about €608.98 euro i get this about $871 aud.
When i go through amazon $905 is what i get.

Im wondering what the best method/cheapest method to pay with amazon or select euro?

I have a citibank debit card visa but i have no idea what fees are attached to that.
I know when im buying on ebay from overseas paypal ends up being more that whats on listing probably paypal taking there cut etc.

But im curious as to what method will work out better for a purchase of this amount. To be honest in past i normally juet pay through amazon but im sure i heard im paying more this way?

Anyone know how best to proceed with this.

  • Hi $879 is the base exchange rate. For credit card it's usually another 5% more expensive. In most card there is also another 3% international fee. 28 degrees card you don't pay the intl fee but I guess you still pay around $905-915.

  • What type of citibank account is it? Not enough information. If citibank plus account then use that, if not you should open one, or if you want a credit card 28 degrees

    • Yes citibank plus are overseas transactions still free? Im sure thats the reason i got it a while back for that reason.
But things may have changed now?

      • Citibank International Transactions are fee-free and from my experience recently they also offer a VERY GOOD exchange rate.
We were getting better rates on the CBP Debit card than we could get swapping cash for cash in Japan.

      • Haven't changed, use that.
