24x500mL Cans Oettinger Pils (German Beer) Woolies $35.18

190

From what I can tell from Boozle this is available nation wide. Boozle lists it as $35.19 but my linked invoice clearly has $35.18 as did the signs in the store. So those complaining about an extra 1c please post links to your invoice and I'll personally re-imburse you*.

These cartons are usually $40-$45, and even then they're a bargain. Since these are 500mL cans, this $35.18 price is the equivalent of $1 per 335mL bottle, $24 per normal-bottle carton or $6 per normal-bottle six pack.

It's a decent drop too - noticably better than other cheapies like Amsterdam, Hollandia or Bavaria.

  • I won't actually re-imburse you.

Good… Time to get my Wizard Sticks on!!!

  • That's a really good price, and a rather large bottle of beer!

    • They're cans. I mentioned it once, but it's easily lost in the second paragraph. I'll make it more clear.

EDIT Although two of the cool things about the cans is:
      * Stack with much greater space efficiency in a fridge than bottles
      * Even though they're 500mL, still fit in normal stubbie holders

I've added cans to the title for clarity.

      • three… Wizard Sticks.

Aight, I put on my Wizard robe and hat

  • oh yeah

    now this is a bargain

330ml bottles/375ml cans are too weaksauce for me

  • might pick up a couple slabs tomz

  • 500mL is the shit, the minimum size for beer in Germany.
    $2.93 per L ? Hell yes.

  • This is a very good offer, and the beer tastes quite good as well. However, pity the carbon emitted in bringing beer from the other side of the world is much higher than with local beer.

Heineken, Kirin, 1667, etc are all 'imports' made in Australia :-)

  • those aussie made 'imports' are crap too

or even that canadian made Asahi…

  • is this at BWS too? Don't have a woolworths liquor close to where i am…

    • Not at this price. Wollies has 20% off all slabs of beer that's why it's cheap their

  • 500ml cans of beer, the way it should be!

Pitty I am waiting for results to come back to tell me if I have a stomach ulcer or a nasty little bugger called "Helicobacter pylori" who I don't remember inviting into my stomach because he ends up giving you stomach cancer… either way, no drinking of beer until I get this sorted. That said I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to stock up now and drink later :)

    • my liver tests came back dodgy - but I reckon it's worth keeping some around for "emergencies"

  • I bought a slab of these last weekend (20% off so it came to around $35). Good bang for your buck.

Damn… I bought a slab. I'm not a huge drinker at all (I rarely drink alcohol). Had one beer, and I'm definitely not used to these 500ml cans. I'm definitely feeling it kick in already….. lol… good value though :)

ahhhh beer - the cause of, and solution to, all of life's troubles

  • picked up a slab from Eastland woolies liquor.
they also had the slabs of the 330ml bottles for $26.18 or something close as well.
i got the last slab of cans but there were still a few slabs of the bottles left.

now just sitting back sucking one down with some KFC Hot N Spicy…. this night is heaven :)

  • Picked up a slab tonight - was not expecting much but it is actually quite drinkable. I usually prefer ales but this is nice for a pilsner.

For this price I would highly recommend this beer - stock up for the WC finals!
