This week on Muso Deals we managed to strike up a deal on the JHT Mini 2 power supply.
What I like about these is that you get 8 outputs which can be used with 8 standard pedals, but it also has a couple of cool options.
1) Chan 1 and Chan 2 can "SAG" the power which can imitate a battery going flat, and works well with vintage wah, fuzz and overdrive pedals (the Voltage ranges from around 5V to around 12V - see image)
The controls have a mini Phillips head screw head, but you can adjust these with just your fingers.
2) Chan 8 can be internally switched to to change from 9V to 18V which is really handy.
The isolated channels mean you don't have to worry about a capacitance build up or ground loop issues that you might get with "daisy chaining" a single power supply.
The big LCD screen and channel selector button make it easy to operate too
It comes with 8 cables and the wall adapter, and is packed nice and firmly into its shipping carton, so you know it will make it in one piece.
I'm too sure if you can find this many features in anything else for the same price.
Enjoy!
Input: 15V, 1500mA
Output: Ch1-Ch2: variable 6V-12V, max 480mA each
Ch3-Ch7: 9V, max 480mA each, total max 800mA
Ch8: 9V, max 480mA. 18V, max 50mA
This sounds quite good. Pretty darn handy and a bit of an evolution from the old one spot.
One point re the voltage sag for Fuzz Faces and other older fuzzes, the internal resistance of a (dying) battery is an important element to the just so/sweet-spot sound ie just dropping the voltage alone won't be the same but is certainly a good option as voltage variance can do interesting things to variety of pedals.
