    Great deal, I added it to the credit I got from all those surveys.

  • hmmm what are the chnaces that Commbank would jump on board with Android Pay as well..

      Well they already have their own mobile payments system to start with.

      I'm unclear why you would want to allow an advertising business to see every piece of data about every transaction you carried out so it could serve unwanted advertising to you rather than your bank.

        I find it interesting how many people are against giving google information. They're going to push ads into your browsing experience no matter what, giving them extra info will atleast make those ads relevant. If it's about not being paid for giving that information, i can see your point. If it's about not wanting google to know what you're doing.. what are you doing that is so exciting that someone would actually care to look? People would be very bored to know that I purchased a sandwich from coles express at lunch time.

          The problem is that if you call up a bank to access an account and you have the basic details (name, DOB etc), the account/card number and the credit limit PLUS some of the last transactions, you can pretend to be the legit account holder and that opens Pandora's box for identity theft. The less info is out there, the better.

          @jollster101:

          Lol. I got two.. I got a chicken and avocado on multi grain and a turkey with brie cheese on wholemeal.

          They're surprisingly good considering their from a servo.

      Pretty much close to zero. The major banks (excluding ANZ) are still trying to drag Apple Pay through the courts for not allowing them access to the NFC element directly, so that they can implement their own payment systems instead of using Apple Pay.

      I imagine Android Pay would simply be a repeat of that, except they can't be bothered to take on Google because it's not as lucrative as Apple.

      • From what I gather, they are so against Apple Pay because Apple wants a comparatively large cut of the transaction, whereas Google doesn't take a cut with Android Pay.

        Anyway, CBA owning BankWest, makes me think there's a chance of them moving to Android Pay.

        • Yeah in hindsight I hink I might bewrong, but I believe the fees are just one part of it. The other part is the control, and the ability to implement their own apps. E.g. the banks can deploy their own tap to pay apps on Android, therefore they don't need Android Pay anyway, so they kinda don't have to give a crap about Google.

  • I also received this email

  • Sweet! I got this email and ignored it.

    The only disappointing thing is that I need to flash my old phone back to stock, cause Android Pay wont install to a Rooted Custom ROM device.

  • Ah so it wasn't just me. Was wondering if they released the media statement to early. Its working now.

  • Damn looks like I didn't get it. I only got an email this morning saying that Android Pay has arrived at Bankwest and I'm assuming this was correctly sent out.
