The camera in the link has a flash… well I assume that is what it is at the front. As for power, a LED flash would be 7watts max, not really an issue.
but think about it, the moment that flash goes off, the lens will have light leaking in it from it. its like having a clear plastic case on your iPhone. just because it has it, doesnt mean its worth it
It probably would be horrible in it's case, but I would be looking to do most filming without it. Same principal for sound, not good with an air tight case on!
Putting a flash on a camera would be a no-brainer you would think..apparently not.
@tunzafun001: putting flash on an action camera or any camera meant to shoot video first, photos second isnt a thing. You dont see Red Epics or Arri Alexas with flashes. if you want a camera with flash, dont buy a dedicated video camera.
I shoot photos and video with these. Amazingly all that video that you watch that is filmed at night uses a flash (obviously running constant like a torch). I promise I wont make you use it.
In summary, I'm guessing the model listed is quite unique
@tunzafun001: it does seem unique, but dont you just buy a go pro and use one of the many external onboard lights you can buy? https://www.google.com.au/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=gopr…
@tunzafun001: the video shot at night almost certainly won't use a light source from the camera in most cases. Usually will have another light source, or be using low light capabilities of the camera.
An action camera won't have the power to run a light and process the video.
@Euphemistic: Flash ≠ a light
Well time will tell, I bought the linked camera with a flash for $50 delivered (I don't think a 7w or less LED will create any problems).
If it works ok I'll keep it. If not it becomes a belated xmas present ;) Not looking for cinema quality, just capturing plain old memories (perhaps exploring a cave, or in a park at night etc).
Gearbest suggested this for those looking to add a flash to a go pro:

Im going to assume no, as 1 it would be impractical as most action cameras come in a clear plastic case for protection. 2 flash needs power, which, as some one who owns a go pro hero 3, they are struggling to have
